MegaPinger

Try lowering your number of threads, or look into a TCP/IP patch mentioned on Matt's ProxyFinder thread (I think around page 6). You could be running into a half-op issue where you're running up against the 10 connection limit in Windows. This is removed in the later version of Windows 7.

Thank you, this is definitely the problem. I looked in the Event Viewer and there are tons of EventID 4226 errors (half-op error). This is a laptop with Vista Home Premium, so the limit is 10 or lower. I can't find the patch for my version though (18427). Will try to dig around for it.

Alright I solved the above simply by updating Vista to SP2 (I forgot to do so after doing a clean system install). I also figured out that I had 2 routers interfering with each other (both my modem and my wireless box were acting as DHCP servers and messing up my connection). Fixed that, and now...

Megapinger is flying off the handle. I can't believe how fast this goes when you set the multithreading high. Rexibit is right, this is far better than Mass Pinger (which is good for a free tool) because you can load thousands of urls; it gives you text files of successes, failures, and not yet pinged; and if you have to shut it down, you just press the start button when you reopen the tool and it picks up where it left off.

If you're doing heavy link building, this tool is very very nice.

On average how long does it take you guys to do 1,000 pings? I'm right around 1 min 10 sec. Is this fast or slow compared to what you're seeing?

It might be interesting on future versions to show performance as pings / sec and/or list how long the program thinks it will take to finish the current project.

I've been using it for about 2 weeks and I think its definitely helping get new pages indexed.

Hey guys,

First of all i am not trying to knock on Megapinger or anything because a lot of guys are having a great success with it, but I am having 2 major issues with it. I am probably retarded and doing something wrong.

1st
I have been pinging my DripFeedBlast (1k/day) links for a week now. I am using 11k proxies I got from proxy finder.

And only today did I decide to look at failed and succeeded files.
Failed file was over 200Mb and succeeded file was around 200kb...
So basically most of my pings fail...

What could be the problem? bad proxies?

2nd
It takes me all night (like 7 hours) to do 1,000 backlinks (almost 100k pings).
Seeing how it takes directresponse only 1 minute, I must be doing something reallly wrong.

Also when the pinger is running I cannot browse internet because it takes all my bandwidth.

Any help or tips is appreciated. I must be doing something wrong...

Edit: I already PM'd matt, but thought I can get some help here too.

Matt, apparently your pm inbox is full (mr popular!). Anyhoo, I just installed MegaPinger, about to use the hell out of it.

Make some PM room!

@Andrey,

I had some of the same problems as you at first with MegaPinger. For failed pings, it really helps to insert titles into the submissions. You'll find some examples of how to do that earlier in this thread.

In terms of speed, I think the earlier claim was 1,000 pings a minute, so 100,000 pings would take 100 minutes. I don't think directresponse was claiming that he was getting 1,000 *sites* pinged to all the pinging services in just one minute. That would be very fast indeed!

You can probably get closer to 1,000 pings a minute if you increase the number of threads used and by using private (rather than scraped public) proxies from ProxyFinder. One of the key problems with public proxies is the latency. They can be really slow to respond.

I don't know how many were actually indexed, I just know that my speed is around 1,000 pings per minute. I have the treads set to 500. My internet speed does slow a bit, but its still fine to work on.

For proxies I get a new list sent each day. I run those through DB and get about 50-100 that I use with MegaPinger.

I don't know if it helps, but I did supplement the number of places that I'm pinging. I've got 189 in my list right now.

Also, I've got 163,000 kb in my failed list, and 107,000 kb in my succeeded list.

Hope this helps.

Just bought this bad boy, looks good so far. Just doing a few test runs at the moment and then I'll report back in a bit. Would be good if we were given some type of best practices guide on how to use it (to begin with I had it set to only use 10 threads instead of ~500).

The number of threads depends on your connection and proxy setup, so I cannot give definitive advice.

License emails are occasionally delayed, they are automatic though, please check your spam filter, PM me if you can't find it.

I got it , but have one real quick question - Using the title inserter, how do I check to see if it's submitting a spun title? From the pictures, we put in a title like {word1|word2} into the inserter, and that then merges the title with all of the URLs for us to ping , however when I throw this list into the pinger, I get results that show the un-spun title on the pinging service.

Ok thanks for the tips, resolved my issues.

First I put 3 links, added titles to them and ran through megapinger. Purged all the services, which failed all three times.

Then I got new list of proxies and used only 100. The speed was upto 400+ pings/min at 300 threads. I could still browse the internet no problem.

Now my succeeded file is a lot bigger than failed one.
