I tried saving the changes in notepad and it will not save. Notepad gives this error:

Cannot create the C:/Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file.

Make sure that the path and file name are correct.


When do you think the fix will be released ?
 
I used to run MegaPinger on my Vista laptop and it worked fine. Now I have a Mac and I'm running it on a XP virtual machine but it doesn't do any pinging, any ideas?
 
Yeah I wish I had backed up my V7. V8 won't ping anything for me anymore. They all get dumped into the failed.txt file. Also the "pings per minute" function always reports 0. Any chance you can send me V7 again? I wish you had more time to work on this Mattseh, I'd pay more for it if you did :) Its one of the few pieces of software I use literally every day.

V8 isn't working for me either if you include titles. If you remove titles, it works properly but I'm sure its less effective that way.

Sorry for the thread neglect, it's the day before deadline for a big University project. For V8 I probably did screw up. Here is V7 if you are willign to hack HOSTS: http://dl.dropbox.com/u/2326797/MegaBots/MegaPinger_V7_ADFE456.zip.

This V9 is I think 99% same code as V7, a short pinging job worked, please let me know how it works. From tomorrow I'll have much more time for this, so if V9 doesn't work, I'll get a V10 out ASAP.

megapinger problem

I cannot run Megapinger anymore because of the following validation issue.. "could not validate your license, please double check your license details, then contact support@megabots.net".

I've contacted support on several occasions over the past couple weeks and absolutely no reply.

I've reinstalled/rebooted and used the license key that came with it which worked for a couple months no problem. Initially I was impressed but when it comes right down to it, it's all about the support after the sale!!

Do I need another license key, a different version?

I am not using a proxy.
 
Go to C:/Windows\System32\drivers\etc\hosts file.

Open in notepad and add this to the bottom of the file:

208.94.116.181 www.megabots.net

Then save. It should now work. You may have to edit the notepad file as administrator. It's dynamic so you shouldn't have to reboot.

^Thanks for that, but megabots.net is the domain he let expire. -You'd better take that domain out at least or you don't know who you're giving access to!
 
My license key doesn't work... Bought it a few days ago..

^Try DLing the v9 above... licensing is a problem because Matt let his domain go by accident that was hardcoded into the previous versions... Oops.
 
License problem..

That's the problem I was having...with the license. After I added the new IP to my etc/hosts file, it loaded successfully without getting the license is invalid error.

Check above for earlier instructions.
