Luke's 7k Post: A baller's bitcoin biz plan

Shit is that Arya Stark? Kind of hot. Relatively I mean, of course.

Yes, Yes it is. Longer version:

Even that was a good 40 years ago, but you are right there, and that type of shit probably still currently goes on daily in Africa. Not probably, it does.

I've been to the killing fields, plus the landmine museums out there. Did you know Canada is one of the biggest supporters / proponents of cleaning up old landmines in Cambodia? I didn't either until I was there, but I was happy to find out about it. Go to the landmine museum in Siem Reap, and there's a big Canadian flag right beside the Cambodian flag, and a huge sign explaining Canada's role.

I've even walked through a couple camps at Auschwitz. Used to live in Budapest, so we went up to Krakow one time, and toured it. Know the famous shot of the rail tracks going through the archway? I've seen that live. Now Auschwitz is a weird place to visit, and definitely makes you pause for reflection.

I've even seen the tunnels the Viet Cong went through, and seen Ho Chi Ming himself all nicely embalmed.

I've also been through the "House of Terror" on Andrassy blvd in Budapest, where both Hitler and Stalin setup HQ in Hungary, and torture chambers in the basement.

But that's my point. Due to globalization, things like that are less likely to happen, because it'd be like shooting yourself in the foot. Germany isn't invading Poland, the US isn't going to drop nukes on Japan, the cold war isn't going to start over, etc. It'd be detrimental for the aggressors in those situations to do that again.

1994, Rwanda. Nineteen years ago, not 40.

1 million people killed in a period of 100 days.

It's too bad they couldn't have been globalized.

Ohhh, that photo was from was Rwanda? Shit, my bad. I thought that was Phnom Penh.

Yeah, Africa is still fucked up, and will be for quite a while. My point still stands though.

Your point that human nature changes because of arbitrary political arrangements? How does that stand? How does "globalization" prevent massacres of people and wars from starting?

Currently the US is involved in I don't even know how many armed conflicts at the moment, shooting and killing people every day.

Shouldn't "globalization" have prevented these conflicts?

I don't even know what you are trying to argue at this point.

Here's a picture of Sandy Koufax:

I'm going to bed.

My grandmother was born at the start of the second war and the nazis burned down their house days later. Her brother was imprisoned in poland. I take my opinions from dozens of people that've been through this, and not my relatives exclusively. I didn't just watch a national geographic documentary. But that's beyond the point.

Recently I saw some guy (can't remember his name) claiming that there are three levels of awareness an individual has to go through to experience authentic change. We can use that for nations, since it's no big deal -- they're representative of individuals which comprise them. Now, I'm about to compare the habits of a cigarette smoker to europe in the 20th and 21st century based on this, just to make an example.

Level 1 - Intellectual: There's no point in arguing how destructive and bad war is. We all know this. Smokers are well aware cigarettes are bad on an intellectual level -- doesn't stop them from lighting up. You can put up as many warning labels as you want, it won't change a thing. The urge is still there, going down to the very core of an individual, and a little rationalization at this point renders logic useless.

Level 2 - Emotional: This is where the smoker or europe as a whole gets terribly angry or afraid of his own actions. The doctor saying another cigarette might lead to a stroke confuses the smoker to a point where he's way past the logical reasoning, it becomes an emotional problem to him and there's still no guarantee he'll stop smoking. Europe experienced this post ww1 after they saw what their war games led to. Everyone lost a relative or two, their cities were leveled, there was barely anything to look forward to. It's actually why literature and arts from the 20's had so much to do with the absurdity of human existence. Now you'd think they'd stop at this point. That wasn't the case. All it takes for someone to turn people against their principles is a good understanding of their nature and way of thinking. Hitler applied this on Germans, so did Musolini on the Italians, alluding to their roman past and how they're supposed to live up to it again.

Level 3 - Identity switch: Back to the smoker example. If you offer a smoker who's quit a cigarette, he will be tempted. And that's where willpower comes in play. But it's still very much possible he'll go for it -- If only you give him a good enough reason to do so. However, if you offer the same to a non-smoker, he/she will just straight up turn you down, because it's simple for them to say no without hesitating. Europe has in a way reached it's identity shift post ww2 when they decided to create the eu, but saying that if the union was to break apart wars can't be expected when your only arguments are globalization and logical reasoning is just plain ignorant. This continent has the most extensive history of mutual hatred between states, and if that doesn't apply to america or other parts of the world, it damn sure does out here.

National Socialism writ large was at the heart of WWII.

However, International Socialism writ large will prevent any serious conflicts from arising in the future.

I get it now.

No, dependence on each other. The US can't just go start bombing China, now can it? That would be like bombing its own manufacturing capabilities.

For another small example, I'm currently sitting in Thailand, and for some reason I'm not worried about Thailand and Cambodia going to war. And they absolutely hate each other, especially now since the world court recently ruled in Cambodia's favor over that whole temple dispute.

Instead of going to war, what are they doing? Opening up new trade routes, border checkpoints, and in talks to offer single VISAs for multiple countries, plus other things.

You're invoking beneficial interest as the savior of mankind. I can't agree with that. Interest can manifest itself through violence just as easily.

Not like it used to..

and thats happening because whoever declares war is at war with half the world. these are military pacts. has nothing to do with anyone being nice. diplomatic proxy wars played by the 2 large players. every time theres some war going on, its an opportunity for china to tell the USA to fuck off.

israel and all its neighbours
south korea and north korea
thailand and cambodia
india and pakistan
georgia and russia
all the eastern european conflicts i cant be bothered to mention because they all sound like sscjsijkafjiaborschtsch

you believe this is about globalization? hate supercedes reason. ever heard of a guy killing his wife, her lover, her lovers entire family, all their dogs and anyone who was stupid enough to be somewhat close to them? crimes of passion. quit arguing. youre stupid.

Hence the world needs governments on top of governments to regulate executable hatred. lukep's anarchic and freedom delusions assume we're already past that point.

do you know what the united nations is?

you refer to everything from the international criminal court to the eu to any other bullshit youve read somewhere. you dont know their roles and fuck everything up. you dont even know what a fuckin rhetoric question is.
