I have no problem with the service, I think it can be quite useful actually. However I do think Nickycakes is a huge hypocrite--had John Chow/Tyler Cruz/XYZ make money blogger came out with a similar product Cakes would probably devote a blog post ripping it into shreds.

But go 'head Cakes get ya dough.

My .02 cents. :)

truth ^^

A mod using the forum to collect affiliate IPs to use in their shitty overpriced script?. WOW..sounds like a blackhatworld move.

we can only view member ips and wickedfire only has 58k members. So its highly unlikely and would only be possible if all the active members used a lot of different ips and devices to login over a very long period of time. Even then you wouldn't come up with that high of a result.

The whole affiliate ip list is still bothering me on several levels.

1. How do you get a 150k unique ips targeted to affiliates? Certainly not a blog or a sig stuff. The views wouldn't be big enough and even if he sig stuffed his img to collect ips the entire time he was on wf and dp he still wouldn't have 150k. Only complete access to a large forum or network would give him that many.

2. Why the hell would you want to block a 150k ips on a lander you're paying money to buy traffic to? Affiliates change ips just as much as regular internet users do so you'd get a lot of regular folks especially since they use a lot of different isps. If an affiliate got on to whereever you were scraping the ips from at a conference such as affiliate summit boom you just blocked most of an entire vegas hotel. Same with airports and schools. You'd be redirecting A LOT of people that aren't even affiliates and the real affiliates you did manage to block would know instantly that they've been redirected. No affiliate that has money to spend taking your ppc traffic is going to fall for a cloak.

3. How filtered and scrubbed is the list and how accurately would it be possible to scrub it. You couldn't do it. Eventually a few hidden adwords/ysm/bings bot ips would get through and the moment you cloaked them your campaign would get killed. unless the scrape was done after a login of some sort which brings back trouble point #1.

Anyways. I'm out of the drama but that aspect of it is just bothering the crap out of me.

BAHAHAHAHAH. Hilarious. Nice find.

I wondering if a de-modding is in order.

I can't imagine the founding fathers must be too happy especially after this new rule: http://www.wickedfire.com/shooting-shit/83323-external-images-signatures.html

Maybe he paid Shoemoney for a list of DP users' IP addresses (He's a mod over there still, correct?).

But regardless, what's the deal with this? Ubercamp gets released, Nickycakes takes a horrific shit all over it. LP Lockdown gets released, Sup3rnova takes a horrific shit all over it.

If you would mind your own businesses, the product should speak for itself. Why does your opinion matter in someone else's business decision. Seriously, everyone complaining about this seems like someone I would never go into business with.

The immaturity of some of the people on here (and this isn't the typical sarcastic WF immaturity) is shocking, especially with how popular some members are in the affiliate world.

And Nick, if you did in fact stuff the forum through your signature, and then use our IP's for your personal gain, that's pretty low. A stunt like that should lead to someone being stripped from their moderator status. Any normal member caught doing anything like that, if it were possible, would be banned without question.

What makes you better than the rest of us?

I would never use this product, even if it was free.

1. I don't trust nickycakes with my landing pages

2. I don't think affiliates are stupid enough to fall for the re-direct.

3. I don't want to block 150k from my landing pages (what eli said)

I have nothing against nickycakes... but since he rips other people for their shitty products, its only fair we return the favour when he realses some usless garbage script you can code in 30 minutes and charges $50 a month for it.

At least admit ur a fucken hypocrite like shoemoney did.

I've got no dog in this fight.
I could care less about Cakes' service.
If he makes a killing selling it to n00bs then more power to him and the Obama fanboi can thank capitalism for his great fortunes. HOWEVER, what's the deal with the forum stuffing being performed by a mod? Like the fox guarding the chicken coop.

Recording affiliate's IPs and then try to make some money off it is pretty shady.

I'm also a little pissed about a mod abusing his powers of seeing IPs from WF for financial benefit, if that's what happened. Where do I get my money back? haha
