Hi Everyone,

My name is Ryan Liao. Before I start, I would like to say that I had a great time at EWANETWORK so much so that I diverted all my traffic to them after working with them for 1 week. The staff were very helpful and they helped me to scale up my earnings.

However, last week, on 29th Oct, when I login to my account, I received an email saying that my account has been suspended due to fraud. Since I did not commit anything related to fraud, I sent an email to Ryan Eagle, listing out my traffic source and inquire for more details regarding the ban.

Meanwhile, I contacted Harrison and he said that he will talk to Ryan personally. I appreciate for the help thank you Harrison. So Ryan replied me(email) on 2nd Oct saying that I have mixed proxies in my traffic and he ask for an explanation. I sent him an email saying that "if it's proxy traffic, than yes I need to use proxy to view my offers landing page to check that the link is working. However, I have never used proxies to buy the product that I'm promoting." I also list down the possibilities that I could thought of for the proxy traffic and I offered my help to prove that I am not doing any fraud. Since then, reply never came in and I feel that there's a lack of proactive in the investigation.

Few Points I would like to highlight:

1) I don't think I should be labelled as fraud since I don't have any intention to "cheat" and I am offering anything that I can do to help in the investigation.

2) I hope you guys understand from my point of view since I'm not doing any fraud. I can provide all the tracking analytics from prosper202 and traffic source to help in the investigation. But since my account is ban I can't login to my account and I won't know which lead or even which offer has fraudulent leads. There's a limit to how much I can do to trace for the particular lead that is fraudulent.

It's really frustrating to be waiting and not knowing when the next email is going to come. I understand that they are really busy with Ad Tech coming ahead but I really hope the staff can help me out. If anyone is able to help me, I would be thankful for that. Here's some tits for you guys

Yes it is frustrating to have to wait on anything.

EWA has grown very fast recently and it is Ad Tech so they are probably just bogged down and that's why resolution is taking a little while.

Also if you had a number of conversions come from a proxy IPs, or really any, I can see why they are putting you on the back burner. I'd bet about 99% of the time a case like that turns out to be fraud so it's understandable they might put you on the back burner so to speak.

Did he say how much traffic or conversions came from proxy IPs?

I'm sure if you have a bunch of data to show them and talk with them things will be worked out, just give them some time.

Hey Man,
your right, we are all in NY, do me a favor and grab my number on the EWA Site and give me a call asap and I'll try to get this resolved ASAP. When we suspend an affiliate for fraud it is because our compliance sends us IP Logs which have multiple proxy IP leads, bad referral data etc. I understand you are saying you have not done anything but we have to protect ourselves as well because we pay everybody weekly.

Call me up today and I'll do my best to get this figure out.

Harrison

Hey Ryan - your account is currently under investigation, and being that Harrison and I are in AdTech our responses are a bit slower. We will have compliance look further into it and I will make the decision when I get back.

Once again, I apologize about the slower response but we are doing our best. We have over 80 hours a week of compliance and we need to suspend accounts until we fully investigate to protect the advertisers, affiliates, and our reputation.

dude, you're sincere at all in resolving this you should be calling him, not the other way round. lulz.

Atleast they answer you. I couldn't get more than a 1 word reply from any of them on aim.

Not my loss though

Ive been trying to get accepted into EWA recently... maybe ill wait till adtech is done @_@

I hate to bump this thread but I guess I have to do so since my case is still not yet resolved(at least in my opinion).

To continue, Ryan gave me a private message on 6th November 2009 saying that he is taking his redeye back and will let me know about my case by the weekend. After some delay and contacting them a few times, I finally got my lead report(ips of leads that came from proxy) on 24th November. He told me that he was out of the office. Alright, understandable.

What the lead report contains are ip address of various leads that came from proxies. The information that I can get from the report are the campaigns and the ip addresses of the proxies. I did everything that I could. I used reverse ip checkup and found that 2 of the ips are from government agencies like US Courts(208.27.111.132) and US Department of Energy(205.254.147.8).

I compared the ip address with my prosper202 analytics(all my links go through prosper202) and to my surprise, half of the proxy ips can't even be traced from prosper202 at all(which means the ip has not even landed on my landing page before).

What I think is that it could be an affiliate sabotage. So I sent information from prosper202 of various ips that can be traced to Ryan and explained to him about my situation. I told him that I will do whatever I can to prove my innocence and I'm even offering to let him login to my prosper202 account if there's a need. Right after I sent him the email, I spoke to him on AIM(since I'm worried that the replies will be extremely slow like previously) but he told me to discuss this issue over email.

I sent him the email reply on 25th Nov and till now, I have not heard anything from them. My account was banned on 30th October.

Looking into my position, I'm sure many of you affiliates will understand this. Most of you guys(myself included) revinvest more than 70% of your money onto advertising expense weekly. I reinvest most of my money into EWA and my account was banned on thrusday. EWA pay out on thursday, which means that my sales from monday - thursday and the week before were all stucked inside EWA.

Think about this, you spend tons of money testing traffic source, biting on your tongue when you see red and lose money initially. Than when your campaign starts to breakeven and gets positive ROI, suddenly your account got banned for things that you have not done before. Than the whole thing gets dragged for a month plus and you still don't know if you will ever see your money in.

If there's an affiliate out there wanting to sabotage me, given the proxy ips, there is little that I could do to prove my innocence. I can only provide referral data and subids stuff etc. I would recommend to call up the person of the proxy leads and if I could be linked to that person, I would slap my myself 20 times and get my ass out of this industry immediately.

What I would like to hear is from them to tell me what to do to prove my innocence(I'm clueless of what to do next) and any suggestions and input would be much appreciated.

You probably did PPC? See if you can prove that you paid for all the clicks that went to the offer, etc.

hate to say it but thats what you get for running with a guy who talks likes he black but dresses like hes a hippie.

stick to the bigger networks who have been around and proven. even if you are losing 2% on a payout at least you know they have support and can pay.

Ryan Eagle fix this shit dude. If this dude is giving you so much info come on man. Stop the fucking around. I know EWA is growing but spare a moment.

not to hate on any bigger network but most of them would not bother posting in here. im sure they'll get it resolved soon since ryan now has another guy to help them out. but yea i agree, its difficult to get a hold of those 2

OP, fuck off.

If you really believe you have a legitimate beef with Eagle, sue him. Since you're not going that route, I have to assume you know you're fucking wrong about "something" and hoping the mob mentality of WF will pressure EWA to your will.

Not so fast fuckhead.

It's pathetic that every dude with a beef with a network uses WF to bitch about it. I've had issues with smaller networks before and I thought about posting the emotional complaint on WF, BUT, it never ever helps, here's why: it's akin to blackmail.

AKMG is a shit network, I've said it a million times, but I keep my bitching/rambling between a very confined range: fact-based and objective. I've never personally attacked anyone there, nor have I done anything aside from post my story and let folks know what my problem with the situation was. Never EVER expect a mob on a forum to help you resolve an issue, never.

No one honestly gives a shit if EWA tells you they think your traffic is fraud. That's between you and them. Send him the login to your P202 account and let him do his thing. Posting it on WF like you're a beaten red-headed stepchild is just fucking pathetic.

My guess is this will resolve like 99.999% of other network bitches resolve:

  • OP bitches when caught/called on it
  • WFers mob mentality comes in and bitches about network
  • Network AM/owner comes in and says 'contact us, this is the first we've heard of it'
  • OP uses his head and works with network
  • Network owner comes in and says "ok, OP admits it's his fault, his little blackmail post didn't work, and situation resolved'
EWA is a fucking great network, pure and simple. That's not because Ryan and I are best buds. We're not. I do however respect the shit out of him and know what he goes through to ensure a smooth up-and-up running operation.

[EDIT: I don't think you're wrong for wanting resolution, I think you're wrong for trying to get the WF mob to help you. Man up and fix your situation yourself...]

I'd say dump reports from adsonar and send them to him. That would be enough for us to pay you and should handle the situation. I'd be shocked if it didn't. He should be able to talk the advertiser into paying their bill with the reports of where and what was paid for to generate the leads.

You must not run much with big networks either. I have had problems getting a hold of some of the largest ones for five figure payments. Most of the networks are understaffed or under-educated on how to do business. Plus 2% could be the difference between breaking even and making a profit for some.

Either way handle your business like a businessman and don't cry like a fuckin baby trying to out people on message boards. If you got a problem try every way to contact them and if you can't then send them a formal paper from your lawyer requesting payment with all of the paper work that shows legitimacy of traffic and another paper that says that you will pursue legal action if this payment is not made by such and such date.
