I have absolutely no need for religion of any kind. The debate is not between Christianity vs. Islam, that both have moderate and extreme wings.

The real global conflict is between Western Civilization and Islamofascism, aimed at overturing our way of life and installing Sharia rule everywhere in the world.

Our Western Civilization draws heritage from multiple religions, including Christianity, Judaism and Islam, and is by no means theocratic, despite what some people might want to tell you. Terrorists who arranged 9/11 were Muslims. They were motivated by religion. That is where we need to follow to the root cause to prevent something like that from happening again. Speculation aside it is impossible to know how any person would feel other than hearing it from the horse's mouth. That article from CNN had quotes from a couple of people who were directly affected by 9/11 and feel putting the mosque up is fine. I'm pretty sure other people who were directly affected would feel the opposite.

Good thing our legal system and our politicians don't act based on how people feel. Oh, wait...

If the tables were turned, and the majority of the West was Muslim, and the Middle East was predominantly Christian, the same thing would probably be happening.
