As of the past couple months my HG dedicated server seems to be fucking up at an unprecedented rate. I'm ready to move all my shit away from them, it's a shame because they have great support, but what good is that if my sites routinely go down?

I need a host I can depend on which has a history of absolutely minimal downtime. Any recommendations?

I think a few months ago HG migrated all the servers to the different DC after that all the problems is started, therefore you can ask HG to provide server in different DC and in the end, if nothing helps than you can for Bluehost, EUKhost or any other host as per your requirement

In terms of reliability, I must recommend:

Softlayer
Leaseweb
WiredTree
Singlehop
Liquidweb

Probably a lot more performance for your dollar and they focus on hosting servers not shared web hosting. Most of the above likely outclass HG's network as well.

I have servers or VPS with all of them and have nothing but good things to say about them, they are nightmare to deal with though if you're a DDoS target..

For good servers that stand up to DDoS attacks check out:

Black Lotus
CNServers
PheonixNAP

I've used all 3 as well and definitely recommend CNServers for reliable mitigation.

If you're looking for budget options, I've likely used a good majority of budget providers out there and can make some recommendations if you wish as well.

I have a VPS in the states with myhosting.com (I compared dozens, best deal by far... reatilmenot coupons or call for deals) and a VPS in London with intovps.com -- been very happy with both. Had one outage on the myhosting.com box that lasted several hours but that's been it for 3+ years now.

We have been with Knownhost for years and didn't have any problems.. Also each year the upgrade their packages so each year around christmas there is package bump :)

Thanks for the recommendations, went with a LiquidWeb dedi. Migration is complete, feels good bros.

I have Tried Go Daddy Its Good AS Well

damn i didnt see this thread i just made something pretty much similiar

so no reccomendations for beyond hosting or softlayer i see

dayummmm hostgator is finna go out of business if they dont tighten up

Well, I posted in the other thread. iWeb has been good to me since I switched.

And as bad as Hostgator has been, they won't go out of business. They got so bad because they were gobbled up by EIG, and so now they are 1 cog in a hosting machine (albeit a crappy machine), with money behind them. They can hemorrhage customers and stay aflot.

This is a shame. Hostgator used to be the premier source for small to mid size marketers.
