Anyone know where you can get free AdSense Layouts / Templates? Templates that have been successfully used in the past for effectively displaying AdSense ads? I would really appreciate it, and Im sure everyone else on WickedFire would too. Thanks.

So you steal them?

Wow people... just wow.

you are telling me you have never looked at someones code because you liked their layout, etc and then integrated it into your layout.

Come on man!

Nice try DanNicol, but that BS logic don't work. tmoney actually said to save somebody else's web layout/design to your own computer and use that straight (whether or not he was being sarcastic is anybody's guess). That is called stealing. No matter what you think, or what you say, it is stealing somebody else's work. It is illegal and immoral.

Now, it sounds like what you are saying DanNicol is that looking at something and being inspired by it and then incorporating similar elements on your site is the same. Well, sorry, but no they are not the same. If I look at a site and like the colors they use then go ahead and incorportate similar colors in my site, that's completely acceptable. If I see somebody using gradients on their posts for a blog and decide to try my own gradients on mine because of it, that's not stealing either.

However, if I go view the source, copy the exact HTML, save out the images and CSS file, then just replace the content with my own... well... that's bullshit. The lack of morals most people on this forum demonstrate is damn depressing.

lmao... that's cute you're so sweet and respecting other people's work. but damn, you're in the wrong industry man :1orglaugh:.

EDIT: btw, where are you in socal?

Sack up huh? Haha. You guys are friggin hilarious. Yes, because now that we're online we can just steal, cheat, and fuck other people over right? Yes, I know I'm at a huge disadvantage trying to be in this business but not sacrifice my integrity and morals, but that's just who I am and I'm not willing to leech off others to gain success.

If this wasn't all online and partially anonymous, most of you wouldn't dare steal from others. Sack up? You're all hiding behind your screens hoping to make it big off other people's work... yeah, if that's sacking up, please cut off my balls right now.

Just because it's easier to get away with things online (stealing designs, stealing music, whatever), doesn't mean it's right. If you think I'm being all "holier than though", well, no shit.

Outright ripping someone's website is stupid and illegal. It's a violation of copyright protection. No big deal you say? It would be trivial to get your violating site shut down by contacting your host. The victim can also file DMCA papers to everyone linking to you and get them to remove your links. This includes search engines.

Well I never stole someone else’s code but I've seen layouts that I've enjoyed that I replicated (just the basic layout) by writing my own. Of course being fluent in HTML & CSS makes that very easy. Besides 99% of the time I can make my page more efficient then what inspired it, code wise that is. ;)

I dont think stealing such a simple html and css layout is illegal because it's so simple! If I paint a blue star on a paper and you do the same, is that an illegal copy then? lol.

Juicify, again, because it is easy doesn't mean it's okay. Your blue star example, for instance. Nike made a simple swoosh as part of their logo. Try making your own logo using that same shape and let me know how that goes.

This is all sad because I'm guessing that if stealing in the "real world" was 99.9999% easier and safer that you people would probably do it. Law (and how difficult it is to enforce) shouldn't be the barrier stopping you. If it is, then you need to be removed from society some way.

They have surely done a special copyright or trademark or whatever it's called for that logotype.

The thing with code is that you can't copyright simple html. So if you made an exact copy of some html and/or css ground up, without looking at the other one, that would be totally legal, and I guess it would be legal to copy it straight off then too.

Juicify, you need to brush up on copyright and trademarks then. For instance you don't actually have to file for copyrights on your content on your website. The content you write is naturally copyrighted the second you publish it because it is YOURS. Same goes for designs and any other forms of work I believe.

Though Nike likely did the extra legal protection for their mark, even if they didn't, you would not be allowed to duplicate it. By trademarking or copyrighting you make it easier to defend yourself against others that claim they came up with it first.

I'm likely done responding to this thread as it's clear most here don't care to even read what I am writing. Apparently making money any way you can is what many of your are going for. As such, I hope you all get caught or prosecuted or whatever else because stealing and leeching off others is bullshit, no matter how easy it may be.
