Facebook Social Ads

So has Facebook stopped accepting pre-paid cards?
I've tried settling my outstanding balance with one and it won't accept it.

Ah well, no money for them then! :D

I just signed back up with them. I played around with it when they first launched, made some decent bank, and ended up getting banned.

I decided to stick to the major ad networks for awhile, but decided to give it another go. Signed up with my business cc, set up my ad, ect.

Took maybe 10 minutes to get approved, it went live, 30k impressions, 6 clicks within like 5-10 minutes of the ad going live, and now, it's about an hour and a half later, impressions have stopped completely.

I remember when this happened around launch time I'd just create new ads. I don't really want to get banned again. Is this still a common thing, tons of impressions right off the bat, and then nothing?

Maybe it's my shitty CTR. I'm selling a physical product, I don't think there are any TOS issues except for the fact that I was previously banned, I don't think they can figure that out though. Any advice?

try to narrow down your audience with keywords and age...i've found it hard to get FB users to pull out a cc tho, most aren't in 'buying mode' when on that site it seems

ya they like to throw a lot of impressions at you right away still and if your CTR drops to .01 then impressions will just stop completely..try making another ad, as long as your following the guidlines you should be ok

Quick question...what CTR do you all average and do you dump an ad before it hits .01?

From what I've seen anything under .03 is worthless.

i've had ctr all over the place..every ad is different but generally if it drops to .04 its toast
Oh man I suck. Mine are .04 or .03, have one .09...only my 2nd day running anything since back in oct/nov (can't remember).

I'm making money so that's a plus.

Are they strict on multiple accounts?

The only reason you get "banned" now is for doing shady stuff, multiple accounts, cloaking...etc.

Your ad may get disabled. If it does it will say so. It's no big deal. You'll either figure out what it is they don't like about it and re do the ad or move on to another product.

Your ctr could be shitty for multiple reasons but most likely it's because (as the others have said) fb users don't like to buy shit. You have to really target hard core for that, age, keywords, gender...etc. And even then, I've not had much luck with selling products on fb.

If your impressions have slowed down or stopped it's just because of your ctr. If you raise the bid it will probably pick back up a little. But really it just comes down to if the people want what your selling and if they don't, the impressions will just slow to a stop and you'll need to try something else.

I was running ads targeting different countries with a pretty focused demographic at around 5 cent clicks & 1-2% CTR. The ad was specific in that what was being offered would cost $ to filter out the curious. Very little return for the number of clicks. The same ad works great on G & Y. Why? I guess as mentioned here, the FB crowd must not be anywhere near a problem solving/money spending mindset.

Soo... something changed in facebook ? I spent something like 5k$ last month to get clicks around 0.10-0.15$ but i can't get any impressions with bids < 0.40 since a few days... Anyone still able to get trafic for 0.15 $ or less ?

Can anyone else not submit ads now? Hopefully I'm not banned but I get kicked back to facebook.com after clicking place order.

It happens very often, or they re ask you your cc information. I think that's when their secure server (secure.facebook.com) which handle cc billings etc.. is saturated. Try later.

I think it's not that simple :) It seems they removed the impressions "bonus" you had for new ads and, like adwords, you need to bid high in the beginning now. I have some "old" ads still running good @ 0.10-0.15 / click but they have like 5000 clicks. Now you need to accept the suggested bid to get a "correct" ctr and then you can lower the bids... Still making a profit but far from what it was 1 month ago.

I don't disagree. Infact, I think you are just giving a thorough explaination for what I like to sum up as: They got greedy.

I just started running a couple things on social ads...wondering if anyone has some insight on what i should be expecting for click thru rates? i am starting slow (bid/budget), but first day seeing 5000 impressions and no clicks...this seems off, but not sure as i am new to the platform

thanks!

FB is a very different medium now than it was 30 days ago, that's for damn sure. The last 3 days especially have been very low for me.

I also think they have stopped with the "new ad bonus". I still get that a little bit, but not the 10k a pop I used to get. I still try with new ads, but just can't get anything to stick now. I have an old ad that has over 25k clicks and 13.5 mil impressions, along with a couple other old ones that continue to produce day to day, but unless you can bid high right off the bat now, it's going to be tough.
