I thought ringtone/email submits weren't allowed on Facebook?
It depends on how you set up your landing page. I've got it set up so that there's no mention of anything "free" in either my ad nor my landing page, but the merchant page offers it.

My LP is getting a CTR of about 75% right now and is doing well, it's been running two days straight without facebook banning it or anything.

You can target specific ages...

Yea, you can, but you have to consider what someone wants to do when they're on facebook. There's a reason that offers that require CC/payment aren't performing well.

Ah, I see. Are you hosting your LP on its own domain or are you using a subdomain?

First time, long time. (I've always wanted to say that.. but it's true). Anyway, how closely are the CPC's compared to Adwords? Are they about the same?

I have a generic "media" domain that I bought and I have the LP hosted on a subdomain.

IE - "dating.yourdomain.com". So long as the domain is generic enough that it can be applied to anything it's perfect. Something like "rocketmedia" or whatever works because people will see something like "wixawin.rocketmedia.com" and see it as legit because the "media" domain implies some kind of business.

Anyway, I use a subdomain :P

I'm paying $0.10 per click right now. I find that the targeting is very general so it's easy to get cheap clicks. The trick is getting the targeting right so that your ads are appearing in front of people that would want to see them.

I bid high at first ($0.15/click) until my CTR was established. Now that it is I've lowered it to $0.10 and I'm going to try and lower it again to $0.07 and see how it does. My CTR is 0.44% right now which is surprisingly high.

Alright, thanks man. I was just wondering since I'm targeting loan type categories if I'd need to pay like.. 13+ dollars per click like in Adwords. (I'm paying 0.20cents per click right now on FB).

You should be bidding 3 or 4 cents a click with that ctr dude. Stop wasting money.

Lowered, let's see how traffic does. Thanks for the tip ;)

haha Cam remember all those times you said you probably would suck at aff marketing? hahahaha

Ha, I'm going to test this throughout the week and see how it does. Right now it's looking like an extra $2K a week ;)

PS - I ref'd a few e-mails that you sent me with some advice, thanks!

Has anyone cloaked their landing pages so they could show the FB team one thing, but redirect normal users directly to a ringtone offer, etc.?

How the hell are you guys getting such low CPC?
I set my CPC to 0.15 and my ad sits dead in the water for days with 0 impressions. I kick it up to 0.30 and suddenly I get 1000 impressions a second.

Are Facebook ads just getting more crowded, or is Facebook starting to pull some Quality Score bullshit?

Let it run at $0.30 for a while until your CTR is established, and then gradually lower it down at $0.05 increments until you've found the level where it maintains traffic and minimizes costs.

I thought that facebook minimized the cost for you, dont they automatically lower it if your ctr is good enough? My bid is at .20 but i only end up paying .09

CPC is based ENTIRELY on your ad's CTR. Use my bid calculator to see approximately what you should be bidding:

Has anyone had any luck bidding on the CPM model?
It's quite a bit more volatile than CPC, especially when Facebook's targeting mechanism breaks for 2 days, and you end up paying for impressions that were not targeted (and Facebook doesn't admit wrongdoing or refund charges). You can probably get higher ROI on CPC, but if you're having trouble with CPC, CPM is always an option.
