Facebook Social Ads

Damn it, I finally got a campaign on facebook that was making some money and it was kicking some ass.

It then got disabled, violated sections 4,5,6 so I checked the ad and the only thing I can see is that I had caps on all of my letters (used to writing ads for google and yahoo), changed my ad and ran it again and I cannot get impressions.

I think I have had one ad that has actually stuck and that one lost money.

Shit, damn you facebook
 


Yeah I think I've gotten every number from 4-11. I have to say a few really surprised me...but I'm just happy we're given some direction now (even if alot of it is bullshit). I would say only 20% of the ads I throw up there stick. You just have to keep at it. Usually, it's just the sales copy and or image and you can redo it. But what really sucks is when they don't like the product/offer (can't remember which number that is). Then your just SOL on that one.
 
Do ads just magically stop running sometimes even with a decent CTR? In this case I consider decent at 0.12.
 
Yes. Don't wait around for it to start again. I wasted like 4 hours of prime time on Saturday waiting for mine to start again. Just start a new campaign with the exact same offer and ad copy.

I take it everyone else's ads are starting fine? I create a new ad and it just sits there on running with no impressions. My cpc is .21 and before this my avg cpc was .11 to .15. I haven't been able to get any new impressions on new ads since yesterday... there's no warnings or error messages. I haven't had any ads rejected since early last week.

Am I pseudo-banned?

My ads were running fine about until I made that last post. I redid the ad as turbolapp said and it's still sitting there. Maybe they are in for manual review and will take a while before they start running, regardless I'm in the same shoes as you so might be a FB issue. Either that or a ban is coming.:error:
 
There is weird stuff going on (well weirder than usual) I keep getting error messages.

Also, another thing I noticed was a few nights ago. One of my ads that just stopped one day, I just left it be and the next morning it was running again. Sometimes I think it jumpstarts at midnight or something.

I know we talked about the dates being fucked up (although I can't find that post at the moment) But I can't remember, did we discuss how the stats for today actually say the day before but the campaign "schedule" actually says todays real date? I don't remember if that "schedule" date always said the correct date or not? And so then I'm left to wonder if that's why sometimes it jumpstarts at midnight?

I feel like I'm just feeling my way in the dark here. If the pickens weren't so good, I would have just left this crap to the birds!
 
they are still all over the map when it comes to approving ads...some that i launch run right away and others that are almost identical take a few hours until they see impressions...bottom line is tho I'm liking "social ads" WAY better than flyers...lots of $$ to be made as long as you know your shit

I stopped running zip/email campaigns over a month ago (5 years ago in regular time) ...they just don't like them on the network...find something else to promote & be creative about it

I was able to get a dating offer up on flyerspro but can't get it to go in the new ad system for the life of me. I've spent about 720 and brought in just over $1k...so I've profitted about $300-400... but it has been going since 10/24 so that's not too good for that long of a timeframe.

I've been advertising my personal apparel companies and they are getting a good amount of clicks..but I'm not getting any request for quotes or anything from it. I've been working on installing and configuring a live chat feature on my site to hopefully be able to push questions to users as they're on my site.

Has anyone gotton facebook pages to work? I have one setup for my personal company but can't seem to find a way to search for facebook pages?

I'm stuck looking at my affiliate stats all day and guessing what my facebook stats are doing.

Come on , I know there are some genuine geeks out there that can give me tips on how to get around this issue at work....
 
Wazzamatta Turb, they block certain sites from ya? Learn to use proxy sites to do yer browsin'. Or, get "friendly" with your sys-admin. :love-smiley-083:

Pretty simple actually, just use a proxy website. A quick Google search will show many options for web-based proxies.

Or, if your work also blocks known proxy services and you run your own server, set up a password protected proxy on that.

Yep already tried the proxy sites, I get a big: You have attempted to navigate to a site that is blocked because it is categorized as Proxy Avoidance

Damn, it's like I'm actually expected to do their work instead of my own.:D

I haven't gone down that whole "own my own server" road yet but I imagine i will soon enough.

Go to Peacefire.org and sign up for their proxy mailing list - if the proxies they send out don't work for you at work then you have a more anal network admin than the US military ;)
