DP-style Review Plz with extortion twist

digging the categories - but design & development?!

i've done both and believe they should be separate... if by development you're talking about some of the software solutions being offered here.

the difference between a $10 banner and a $100 software solution is significant. There are enough of both providers on here too to support separate categories.

bam! 2¢

+1 for separate "Design" and "Development" categories.

Thanks Erect, to be honest with you I have no problems with the sub categories. I already see that being implemented.

I just wanted paid posting so that the creation of the same threads don't happen again and again each week and then the bumping game/strategies for these threads to land up at the top with duplicate accounts (I can show you examples by pm).

Also as you know, my threads are on the 2nd and 3rd pages buddy and I liked your comment about "erect cock" - we are gay's.

Let's get back to making some monies.

I don't disagree with anything you are saying, I was just talking strategy there pointing out that we're all guilty of attempting to manipulate the system since I was speaking "honestly".

Your sales threads are 2nd to none

Agreed, but if they were doing it so that each sub-category will look full, then they made the right call.

If there is room for both and they want to split them up, I would add domain sales to your list ... I think there's more of those BST threads than either.

careful what you wish for... auction2post thread moved to the content section. lol! now i get to battle it out with all of the content writers. see above re: development forum or software sub-category. Seriously, there are enough providers to warrant it.

My vote:

BST:
-Software
-Web Design Services
-Software Development Services
-SEO/Content Services
-Sites/Domains for Sale
-Newb Dickrolls.

Update: Just saw the changes, they're not equitable to guys like Radio, Erect, or myself. I really have a problem with the lack of options.

For your consideration using what bb said, the current implementation, and my own thoughts:

Content
Links & SEO
Sites & Domains for Sale
Software, Programming & Development
Web Design & Graphic Design

This should keep it separate enough but still have enough posts per category.

Thanks to Stanley for the Subsections. I think it would have required him going through every freakin link and manually dividing it though to put things in the proper place. Maybe this would be a good time for you guys to start a new thread (with good reason, of course, like a discount or promo ;) ) If you guys need me to move a thread pm me with the link you want me to move and where you want me to move it to. I reserve the right to stop this if I get bombarded with requests though.

In my mind, the additional new sections will be a huge improvement ... stan's the man

I'm ok with leaving my thread in the general SBT (I'll change the acronym since I now realize that BST is a DP term) section. Adding those subsections will cut the traffic down from 50 new threads / day to 5-10 which is 1000% better.

What we really need is a keyword subcat so I'm there all by myself. :evil_laughter:

On a side note: This has been the most productive thread jack in WF history (and there have been more than a few).

Now you guys can get back to your "Review Plz" conversation. Personally, I'm just going to start slamming anyone under 200 posts who even considers asking for a review copy. We're about to have a ton of noobs with red squares under their name.

Hey admins, I just went through and reported a few threads started in the general section ... I'm realizing now that this might get annoying to you guys if I do this on a regular basis.

What do you think about giving someone temporary privileges to clean that place up unless you have a system in place already.

I don't think it's necessary to go through every thread in SBT, rather just move them when they get posted to. It would only take a couple minutes/day and the section would be clean and tidy in no time.

Go ahead and keep on reporting those posts the way you are. 1) It's nice because when a mod comes in they don't have to read each and every one to figure out where to move it to and if you guys are willing to do that the way erect is (where he says "wrong section-->links"...etc.) then go for it. Not necessary to go on a scavenger hunt or anything but if you're reading a BST thread and you notice it's in the wrong section now because of the changes, report it. 2) the squeaky wheel gets the oil.

Personally I think software (including software that generates content - like Auction2Post) should stay in the main forum. Along with everything else that people don't know what to do with. Subdividing too strongly will make it like all the other marketplaces where sales / transactions are reduced simply due to a lack of exposure.

I think the subforums, as they are right now, are perfect - that is, those really "competitive" markets like SEO services have their own containers, while everything else can hang out in the main section. Software, job offers, etc. I don't think its a good call to try to subdivide everything in to a category - don't kill the main forum section.

The problem is, software gets killed in a "kitchen sink" forum.

I'm not really worried about it, but if I was a software vendor, I'd want a section for that.

"Software and 3rd party hosted services" or something like that.

I'd agree, except that without content/design/seo services in the main forum very little other trade is going to end up in the kitchen sink.

I think. Maybe you're right?

I have seen plenty of threads where the seller has obviously created fake accounts and issued reviews of his own services. I mean like twenty members all with less than 20 posts claiming to have bought and gotten a good deal.

If you run a content writing sweatshop in India its gonna be no sweat of your back to have your guys create 20 accounts and give fake reviews. I liked the idea they had of if your issuing review copies to only give them to mods/long established members (who give an honest review).

You have a point there, but I can tell you, a few people signed up to buy LFE, and they never posted again. But they did in fact buy it, and are using it.

I think the move to split up the BST is brilliant. It is much more organized now.

This happens with my products too. A few of them are even listed as referred by me, even though I've likely never talked to them. 1-2 post wonders come in right after buying ST just to say thanks/how great it is/etc.
