If I'm in town I'll come up on the new haven line, but there's a big if as SES is the same time as ASE (Shawn if you're reading can we not have this next time please)anyone from north of the city taking metro north in?

Anyone know how much the Valet at the Hilton is per day?
From where the Hilton is: 5.7 miles to La Guardia Airport (LGA), 10.9 miles to Newark Intl. (EWR), 13.5 miles to New York John F Kennedy Intl. (JFK)
Just booked the hotel room. Still shopping for flights.
Which airport should I fly into? Does it matter?
EDIT: Nm. Just saw thuxen's post-

jfk would be easiest... air tram to jamaica station costs 5 dollars and Lirr to penn station prob another 5...
I use AirTrain whenever I fly out. I live only 6 miles east of JFK, yet they want $35 each way for a cab (before the tip). Screw that!jfk would be easiest... air tram to jamaica station costs 5 dollars and Lirr to penn station prob another 5...
Ya I didn't think it was intentional - I'm gonna try and do both, crazy as that is.SES hadn't announced their dates at the time we booked and made our announcement.
Trust me, I'd rather they didn't overlap ASE.

LGA doesn't have an AirTrain, but the M60 bus is a shuttle that departs from Grand Centeral terminal, and goes around LaGuardia's airport terminals for $2. JFK is the newer, better connected airport, LaGuardia is the tough, ugly sister.
Technically, AirTrain doesn't even leave Queens. It does a circular route stopping at JFK terminals, airport parking lots, the Howard Beach subway station and the Jamaica/Sutphin Boulevard LIRR station. You can connect @ the LIRR station for a train bound for Manhattan/Penn Station (32nd & 7th Ave.) then take the subway uptown to the Hilton @ 51st and 6th or a cab. The walk is ok, but you'll have luggage.errr...does AirTran go to the Hilton? OMG Texas girl in the teh big citiez!

The A train subway station at Howard Beach will connect you to anyplace in the city for $2, but be prepared for a loooong ride through the marshes of Rockaway and south Brooklyn. :eek7:
Be prepared for fork over at least $45 for the privilege. Some Gypsy cab drivers hang out at the airport so you may be able to negotiate a better fare. The AirTrain method is easier than it sounds. I gave you a lot of detail making it sound harder.....so, cab it is!
