I think the distance/travel time argument can be let down.
Science is advancing at an increible velocity, questioning our theories every day. The Standard model, quantum mechanics, string theory - a lot of things are going on.
If we don't annihilate ourselves, where will we be in 1000 years? 10000 ? 1 million ? We sure will laugh how stupid we where back then.

Apparently you seem to have read that I posted this as FACT and it stoked your marketing prowess. It was a related video from the OP's post which is 100% relevant to the thread and interesting, whether fact, fiction, or a quick laugh, it's all perception my friend.
Did you deny the existence of stealth technology before it was declassified? Nothing mind blowing once you knew about it right? What we're beginning to see is 50+ year security clearances on highly sensitive levels beginning to expire, who knows what will start coming out over the next 10 years, or not. I really don't think the USG expected to keep as many of these programs (I'd use the word "black" but wouldn't want to sound sheeplish) this secret, for this long. So the question is, why?
Not a tin foil hatter whatsoever but some of this stuff is interesting and we have 100's of billions in unaccounted for/off the books American tax dollars and who knows what else going into some of this shit which makes it even more interesting and fully unconstitutional as I understand it, not fact... Some really dense and crazy people even entertain the idea that it's not about aliens, UFO's, advanced material, drive technology, weapons, or anything of the sort, but actually all a well designed slight of hand distraction (here's your "marketing" piece...) to keep our eyes off of HOW we fund our secret unaccounted for projects with unaccounted for money.

It's funny how a lot of people assume that aliens would have a physical, tangible form that our poor 5 senses can somehow detect.

Just for the rec, our eyes see millions of things every second but since our optical brain can only understand a fraction of those, we technically only see what we can understand.

They can have the most adaptable, open and evolving religion in the world, but their caste system is just stupid. Almost as bad as Muslims sanctioning the killing of infidels.
The point I'm making here is if, hypothetically speaking, alien existence became commonly accepted it would behoove people to view religious origin stories and supernatural depictions in a new light.

I know enough about science, history, and human nature to concede that I pretty much know nothing of what really is reality. Our (human) reality is what we perceive with our eyes and ears - but is that really reality? I highly doubt it. I'm sure there are concepts out there that are so far beyond our realm of perception or understanding that our brains aren't capable of even coming close to comprehending. I'm not saying we should stop learning about ourselves and the universe, but to discount the possibility of literally ANYTHING is true ignorance.
So you're saying they don't exist on any level of physical reality that we can experience in our lives. For all intensive purpose, how is that different from them not existing?
