Let me analyze.
2 possible solution, either cakes recovers or you destroy him completly.

How should cakes behave to come on top?
Form a consensus. cakes should not post and should let his friends/fans do the job. They should form a consensus that picking IPs on WF was an acceptable move.

How do you behave to destroy cakes?
Dig more dirt from his past, invent fake stories to neg his reputation (again form a consensus, shouldnt be too hard to do now as this is the perfect timing).
And finally some uber-blogger should pick the coin and stab him once more via his blog.

My bet? I have a feeling cakes will recover.

Can't knock a guy for trying to make some money and who cares if his tool is helpful or not, everyone can make their own decision.

He's been very smart not responding to much in this thread as it will just cause more heat. I am sure he would rather this thread go away. But if you are going to dish it out then you need to take it as well. The more he responds to accusations the bigger the drama will become.

This question needs to be answered though as its bad on Jon as well as Nicky. They have gained the trust of the entire affiliate community and that trust MAY have been broken.

Did he use his mod status on wickedfire to grab a list of ips in vbulletin?

Use his sig all he wants but when you start taking user ips from the admin system that is another issue.

I think both Jon and Nicky need to respond to this and until they do this thread shouldn't go away. If it was the other way around Nicky sure wouldn't let it go away.

He is quick to drill others when he sees something he doesn't like going on in the industry but now when its his time to answer questions he is nowhere to be found.

This answer by his partner in the above post is insufficient...

Fact of the matter is that AM is highly commoditized. You creatives will be copied, your LP will be copied, your traffic sources will be outbid, your margin undercut. The idea is to keep running.. Nicky offered a solution to protect your ROI for a few weeks/months...

Maybe it was overpriced. Maybe the solution was no rocket science. Youtube was no rocket science either nor is Digg..

now, think about it this way: uber started this thread and flamed cakes in order to deflect any attention from him and exonerate him of any possible future accusations.

What if Uber is actually collaborating with nickycakes (gets a share of the profit) and provided him with the IPs that visited MMO.com (which were referred from wickedfire) ?

BAHAHAA conspiracy theory ftw =] and it only took me 2 mins to come up with this shit ; then you wonder why the fuck so many fake moon landing / 9-11 conspiracy theories come up :D

PS: no hard feelings, guys, it's nothing personal.. just a quick thought that sprung to mind while reading the drama around here

I seriously don't get why anyone gives a fuck. Until today I assume anyone could trawl IPs with a pixel. I'm sure nicky wasn't the only one doing it. As to whether he used his mod status to extract them directly. That's speculation pure and simple and it's going to be his word against everyone else. Frankly if I was a mod and placed any value at all on the position this is the last place I would be scraping the admin panel from. There's a lot of mods here and it wouldn't be hard for someone to pick up what was happening. Would you risk it when you could get the great majority of them from pixels with impunity?

Unless you plan to live your life behind Tor your IP is public domain wherever you visit.

yo, i did reverse ip on nicky ages ago and all he had was adult sites. He does that well coz he never gets laid. btw nicky steal my ip and use it on your ip system as it refreshes every few hours for me lol. Good luck mate....
