Facebook Social Ads

Hi Everyone. I am another one of those noobies who want to enter this business. I have had experience with domains , hosting , and some SEO earlier :)

"Internet is Serious Business" has anyone tried to use this coupong code?

Here's my thoughts when I'm bidding on Facebook. Every single offer I run initially I expect to lose money while I'm doing some split testing (just like adwords!). What I'm trying to get a feel for is what kind of EPC the offer gets, and how GOOD my CTR can be.

For instance if I sent 500 clicks to an offer and it does .15 EPC, then I think to myself whether or not I can get a good enough Ad, so my average CPC goes below .15 in order to profit. The two main factors are my previous experiences in the niche/demographic, and what kind of CTR I'm getting with the initial ads.

Once you decide the offer's good to go, your goal should be to continuously split test in order to find your best ad. Once you've tested graphics, headlines, etc. and come up with your best ad, expand it to different demographics.

At this point you should be profiting since having a split tested ad should yield a high CTR and low CPC. Pretty much what happens next is to test the bids until you have a good balance of volume / profit.

Something to watch out for when testing bids is to remember that there are major differences in the days of the week you're testing. It's probably better to watch things week over week.

Good Tips Man,
Another thing I would add in is instead of just trying to find ads that will decrease CPC also think of way to increase EPC. I had an ad that was getting 1/60 conversion rates. I though this offer would convert how I was promoting it so I decided to try testing with a landing page before I called it quites and now it gets 2/10 conversion rate!

I'm just having trouble getting decent volume these days. They ain't sending my clicks :-(

Tip: Always redirect. Gives you more flexibility to try offers across different networks, or change networks if they offer you a better payout. It will also allow you to test it with an LP without making a new ad.

Anyone else not getting impressions? Over the past 12hrs I have gotten a total of 3 impressions across 20 ads even though I'm bidding 35cents and have a CTR greater then .2 for most of them. This is super annoying.

My impressions have been dying overnight (like 0), and then in the morning they kick back in. It's been happening over the past 3 days or so. I don't have any scheduling on my campaigns.

i just give another shot with dating offer and it got approved but they recommend 1.21 bid..WTF..will see how many impression I am getting..I am bidding $.45 now..

I had a similar recommended bid for a dating ad, so I just put my max bid at 25 cents and it's getting plenty of impressions with an $0.18 CPC. I don't give their suggested bids much attention anymore.

I don't see how you guys have dozens or even hundreds of campaigns running.

Is this like your main source of income right now? I've been at it for around 3 weeks & have only managed to find time to put together 8 campaigns. A few have been profitable.. 1 with a 300% roi.. But I just can't seem to get my ctr to go anywhere.

I think I need to just take a week off my other projects & get a couple hundred ads approved to split test?

What do you mean time? Facebook takes no time compared to running a good adwords campaign and other programs.

Facebooks prob one of the easiest thing to start out as a noob. Like what everyone's saying, the things easy, and is fast. If u can get something and go right at it before everyone else, u already got that piece of cake sitting infront of you. Then what u gotta do is scale that shit up the roof and $$$$$$

Basically facebook can be easy to make big money BUT, it can also be just as easy to lose big money... You just have to be careful with your spending there until you find something profitable and even then, be cautious. I've had campaigns that look real profitable but when I throw a lot of $ at them, they barely break even. I guess it's just all about testing and finding out what is right for you. Good luck :)

If you're worried about losing lots of money, just keep your max spend low and slowly raise it. It might take longer to see results/get good data, but you won't be risking anymore than you think you can lose.
