COPEAC stopped paying?

Sad about Copeac to be honest.

They were the first and only network I worked with as an affiliate for 3-4 years. I'm long time friends with Mike Krongel and I'm sad to see them in this situation.

I know there's a lot of people not getting paid and I know that sucks ass.

Just a sad day for me remembering back.
 


Seems like some serious cash is owed cumulatively to the people in this thread. I don't know how people can pull in 5 figures on a weekly basis and not know how to contact a lawyer when things go south.

Maybe some people are just full of shit.

Isn't the problem that they had their assets frozen after the whole FTC thing? (Rather than an advertiser not paying). Just seem to remember reading about it here I think at the time.

This isn't about them not getting paid. Mike is stand up and would have still paid everyone, even if it meant taking a loan out to do so. In the long run he would have easily made the money back and then some.

It has to do with the FTC freezing assets and him not being able to access funds to pay anyone. The situation sucks and I am sure if there was anything he can do, he would. He has worked damn hard to build a brand and I am sure is beyond himself watching everything go to shit.

I said freezing, not seizing... big difference. =)

This all could be temporary and things released after paying a large fine... or not. I personally do not know all of the details of the campaign. One thing I would bet on is that he can't do anything with continuity again.

Is EPIC/AZOOGLE going through something similar to COPEAC? They always say that it's another division having the cash flow problems and something about credit lines... I kind of remember hearing that Epic Marketplace was in trouble for ‘history sniffing’ a little while back. Is that why they're not paying now? I'm still owed for July and August payments (and NO it's not crap traffic or scrubbing - they're just not paying either...) Otherwise, why are they killing their great reputation they've built up???
 
diversify bitches, expect networks to screw you, expect merchants to screw you.

Always have a plan b, if something smells fishy, be ready to switch traffic to another offer/network/merchant if needs be.

No idea. I have not heard about anything to do with the FTC and Azoogle. I don't work with them and haven't for many years.

I run a network and agree with this... Networks don't depend on one affiliate or one advertiser for all of their revenue and publishers shouldn't either.

Some advertisers pay only Net30, so we was set bi-weekly with copeac. We try weekly whenever we can, of course.

Just so everyone is aware, it looks like the rats are leaving the ship. I was contacted by 2 different AM on my IM about moving my stuff to the different companies they are joining. Funny thing is neither was my AM or would have known my IM name. Clearly the internal list has been distributed and everyone is trying to salvage what they can.

I have made enough in the last 4 years and nowadays my real estate investments alone are good enough to make a very good living off.
Unskilled clever people will still be more clever than skilled dumbasses no matter how much the industry changes! Don't forget that Bill Gates or Steve Jobs are 'unskilled'!
