I'm getting very annoyed with wordpress. I can't put amazon image and text links without having to do someth special stuff. I can't even embed youtube videos without having to download a plugin. The formatting is totally whacked sometimes.... ugh! I should have used blogger instead. I never have problems with blogger.

for youtube videos, if you just paste the url in the post editor, it auto-embeds them. Not really sure about amazon as I don't use them.

tried that. Still ain't working. even hit the 'video' button and placed the link in that.

Just checked out the fast lane forum. It looks good to keep anyone motivated (even me :P lol) I am definitely bookmarking that site.

I am no expert on wordpress in fact I am just starting off with a free blog to see how things go. But one really helpful post is this Complete Guide to Wordpress and Blogging that Aquitas made. If worst comes to worse you could just post your question in there and i am sure it could be answered.

thanks man. I'll check that out.

It probably sounds kinda funny but this is kinda like learning to play zombies. At first you are just hacking away and messing up over and over again. Over time you get further and further from levels like 1-2 to 3-5 and then suddenly a pattern emerges and you start getting to levels like 12-15. Then you get smarter and refine your strategy to make it to levels 20-25. Finally its all about endurance and sticking to the strategy from 25-31. 31's my highest level. I'm not sure what happens after that but I'm assuming its similar with anything else.

I noticed that I am able to write with more detail and directed towards a specific audience when I read through the forums where my audience hangs out and find out what thier questions are most of the time.

I can then do a lil research and answer then along the way while I conjure up ideas for my next blog post. After awhile I've already got one in my head and I can bang it out within an hour or less. Its hard to keep it from going over 500 words but w/e.

Still writing article and now experimenting with different adsense placements.

Seems like sort of 'blending' the ads into the site is a better strategy than making them pop.

I'm not sure what the consensus is but I guess I'll have to figure it out for myself.

I'm quickly starting to realize the importance to 'empathy' to figure out what people are experiencing when they visit the site and what's going through their mind.

right now I' hazy on exactly who my target audience is but I'll refine that some more soon enough.

ok ok ok ok

its funny because challenge.co says to figure out the 'product' last.

I'm sitting here and it just seems so much easier to have a product or money strategy first (like deciding to use adsense). THEN I can figure out who would be most likely to buy or click my ads. Generally speaking its not people who are looking to buy just yet. Just information seekers. So BAM. I know what I'm tryna do with adsense. Get 'noobs' looking for information on my site.

Now I can tailor my signatures and blog comments to target these people's curiosity and personal interests to get them on my blog. Then if they don't find what they are looking for they end up clicking some the the text ads I placed in locations you'd normally look for more information.

SOMEONE BOUGHT SOMETHING! YEAAAAA

I made a commission of 2 cents. FUCK! LOL

the advertiser in amazon sold some book to someone who clicked my link for 47 cents.

Implementing a different strategy with the same site now. Not gonna blog anymore.

Not deviating from this one either till I get the results from it.

I'm also learning php to implement my own Opt-in and mailing system.

Feels like I'm working around the clock... I kinda like it... the anxiety to keep working and then just working makes me feel good in a way.

I've read that some people say they require a high level of self created stress in order to feel normal. I guess I want to make it this happen so bad that I just can't stop or else I feel anxious.

I take breaks but the second I think about the money that I'm gonna be making I just want to explode with energy while I dive back into building, learning, working at this.... Sympathizing with my market to understand them, trying to understand what they think when I do this or that, reading this book on php to build this opt in script... figuring out how to plan properly after getting lost multiple times... learning how to strategize and stick to the plan....

thinking back to my very first websites I'm actually miles ahead of where I was at first. I know I'm learning a LOT and its only a matter of time before I'm making some big bucks.

Really enjoying the learning curve to PHP. I'm reading the book "Codin' for the web" by Charles Wyke Smith. He doesn't just give you the rote knowledge but goes in depth into protecting your forms and making your forms user friendly. Really good writer too. He doesn't try and sound all sophisticated and use huge or dry words. Makes learning this stuff has human as possible.

I'm gonna finish this book in roughly 6-7 days at the rate that I'm going. Nearly half way through it already. My brain is frying. Now I know why some programmers like to drink BAWLS and know about so many internet games.. helps to keep going and going and the games to relax the brain for a little while. Apparently I didn't learn this in highschool. Oh well. Now I'm learning it =)

Finished about half of the mailing system. Got it to check input from the form. Got it to save data into a file on the server. Got it to send me an email notification.

Now I have to set something up to send a verification email to the user and then after verification have it send a prewritten email to the user.

I gotta have the verified emails written instead.

I also want to add list of files with prewritten emails that are sent out at intervals and one after another.
