Edit: ChrisS too.

4 Mods, and Cakes has been dropping us hints like how his IP address matches someone else here, and that YS deleted his own posts, and so on... So it wouldn't be likely for him to give away that much.

So I've narrowed it down to ChrisS, .Hack, and PJ for sure.
 


I don't have any reason to suspect you, JCash. I admit that was a mild troll.

I don't agree with LukeP that it's any of the mods, even though I think a mod aided Mr. Stuff (or removed his content against his will), since as others have pointed out, a regular user couldn't have edited all those old posts.

The reason I named the three I did is because all of those users posted in this thread before Nicky and JCash started talking about how someone who shares his IP had already posted in this thread.

Then, as momchil9 pointed out, nickycakes posted this in this thread indicating that the same person had posted in that thread. So I simply compared who had posted in each thread (this one and that) before those two events, and 1yerrot, faceblogger, and DrewClement were the only ones who appeared in both.

JCash is too smart for me and his clues are lost on me.
 
Well, after reading this thread thoroughly, it is clear that 1yerrot is not a suspect. Well, not a suspect as far as secretly being YuckyStuff. However, he may have murdered him.

Also, notice that a bunch of 1yerrot's posts that were quoted by Yucky are missing in that thread.

Now you guys are just fucking with me.
 
I'm not sure if this whole thread is just a big troll, but the dude deleted all his own posts and he's an alt of someone who posts a lot on this forum who I'm not going to out, but isn't a mod. AFAIK you can delete posts whenever you want, or at least you could back then, so I'm not sure where that conspiracy theory came from... oh wait, yes i do, lukep.

well that narrows it down to 3 or 4 service providers that wouldn't want to tarnish their brand (and have stayed far away from this thread)

Regular users can only edit their posts for something like 5 minutes after they've been posted, then they can only be edited by mods/admin.

For a while you were able to use the edit link format and substitute any post ID, similar to the technique I use to bump threads non-admins shouldn't be able to bump. A moderately skilled botter could edit 100 posts to dickroll.gif within about a minute.

I guess the question at the heart of this thread is was YuckyStuff censored by himself (with the help of a mod/admin) or by someone else?

The fact that a bunch of his posts have now come back only complicates things.

I'm not saying there's no mod games in play, I'm saying the mod games are ex post facto. Troll accounts wear out and they can diminish otherwise positive relationships that can be built with forums like this.

There also was a time when for ~2 weeks a couple of months ago when we were able to edit all of our own posts in the usual way. Anyone else remembers this?

Worthless users are exiled all the time. We often make a spectacle of it.

If his account was disabled/obliterated/whatever against his will and no one is even willing to own up to it, I think that shows he wasn't some garden variety troll with nothing to contribute.

Whenever this thread dies I get pms from members asking me for an update about it, so it's not like I'm the only psychotic person on this board who wants to know what happened.

IMO the idea of admin deciding he was hurting this forum with his articulate yet controversial posts is even worse than banning Dresden because of his "extreme" beliefs.

yup and you weren't auto logged out after 10 minutes or whatever during that time as well, but I think YS was already gone at that point.
