How effective are these if you were to fire out 1 per week for the same site but use different kw's and internal links.
I guess you are hitting the same targets all the time so you might get diminishing results after a few goes.

You're constantly refreshing your site in Google news by doing this. I highly recommend it and have many clients who do it. Consistent rankings have a lot to do with keeping a good link velocity.
