Don't forget to send me 60% in consulation fees via PayPal at errr... never mind. ;)

Yeah, site looked fraudulent. I think you are correct. From NetworkSolutions it links to that site. So I guess the offer was legit. Damnit! I should have accepted it.

You did not accept it - come on man - you got all fired up and even went to the trouble of digging it, then you dont accept it.

Maybe Jon can hook you up with some Adderall, so you can focus.

Lol at the people saying they should take him to court whats wrong with registering peoples names?

Nothing, but I think some people get confused because there are celebrities who've sued domain squatters. I think its different with celebs though because their name becomes a trademark.

Well if he turned the domain into a site making money from the digg ceo then maybe he could sue him but just having the names regged isnt doing anything wrong.

Like I said, I agree, but it's not really settled law. Tom Cruise won his name not too long ago, and the domain was just forwarding to an entertainment site. Domain registration is dicey when its a trademarked word/name/phrase.

Actually, if Jay Adelson himself, saw this thread, he could take katoved to court and win b/c his name was registered in bad faith. katoved says, in the quote I posted below, that he goes around and registers names of wealthy entreprenuers. Registering people's names in order to profit off their successes is cybersquatting. It doesn't matter if they're A-list celebrities or CEO's. Even your neighbors garage band has rights on their band name under common law trademarks. There is no requirement that the name has to be famous or trademarked in order to file a UDRP case.

For over a year now, I have been registering peoples names online. I have quite a large portfolio of wealthy entrepreneur's names. I was just offered a substantial amount for JayAdelson.com. If you dont know who Jay Adelson is, click below:

He's founder and CEO of Digg.com Im rich bitch! Enough of this bullshit CPC and CPA grunt work.

Now if you went around and registered random names it would be ok, considering they weren't celebrity .com names, but you openly admitted you're registering successful entreprenuers names in hopes that they'll come buy them from you - that's registering in bad faith = cybersquatting.

I'm not trying to bash you katoved, just an FYI. I wouldn't go posting this everywhere. :)

Anyone can take you to court if they feel that the name belongs to them and you registered it in bad faith. Though it is the WIPO court which sees over these matters.

Oh before you LOL at my above statement too, if you take a look at some case histories then you'd find that even Google Cache of pages and forum posts (which you could have edited) can also be used against you as an evidence.

We know who Jay is. Get a life loser, if you want to go around registering people's domains and then charging them like a loser, no one cares, but you dont have to post a story about it.

Haha, I think people on Digg are against it :)

Suffice to say, when I was thinking of registering the domain name to redirect to digg or something... I checked it out. I saw someone registered it. Clearly, I knew it was registered to make money, but I also don't care that much about having the domain name.

What's interesting is that on Network Solutions, they sort of "enhance" the market...They let you click on a button that estimates the value of a domain name by the number of hits it finds on a search engine. Well that's dorky, of course anyone who is in press is going to get a big number...

So I offered the guy $250.00. He countered, I countered...

I still don't have the domain, but whatever. Anyway...nuff said.

If my name were registered for profit, and I were the owner of digg.com, I'd send lots of traffic to the forum the guy posted it on.. hint hint. :banana_sml::banana_sml:
