Same here man. If I could go back in time right now to when I was 17 I would tell myself "Stop being such a fucking dumbass and get to work." It's weird to look back at who you used to be and then realize that you've only been the new you for 2-4 years.
We're almost the same person. When I was a kid I was told by many people that they had never met somebody my age who was as self directed as me.
When I was 15 I sat down and wrote down a list of goals I wanted to achieve and when I wanted to achieve them by. Some were very long term goals and some were short term goals. Most of them were very ambitious. But I had goals for almost every year of my life.
Looking at that list, if I were to rewrite it now, it would look almost the same.

Need more context on this. Sidenote : I'm currently full time science student at senior secondary school who gets good grades and make more money that my school's principle and my parents.
After secondary school 1 million students compete for engineering examination which admits about 10k of them to engineering colleges operated by Govt. After 4 years of studying they get a job of 10-20k an year. It's always about 3-5 times less than what one gets in US.

I was old before my time, so my 17-year-old self would probably just shrug and consider this life a natural extension of who I was then.

LOL! I don't pretend to be 17 again, silly. I just get to watch and listen to the drama of kids that age. Being around it makes you never want to be a teenager again, mind you.
