WOW this should be a gold mine of affiliate information great idea with offering websites as prize - more offers like this further down the line will keep this forum very active - get that next server ready Jon

I'm ecstatic that i can use affiliate links in my posts - just gotta keep postin' quality articles, throw a couple of affiliate links in there = gold mine :P
makes me happy.

I haven't seen too many forum launches, but this one is growing FAST! I can usually find something I dislike about a site, but lots of things here just seem to flow naturally from the start here. Respect, Jon!

Yes, the site is hosted with ThePlanet, and regardless of how many people decide to join, I would much rather have a smaller userbase of overactive to active posters, over a large userbase with not very active members.

I really do think we are setting records here, because I have NEVER in my entire internet career seen a forum grow so quickly in it's first 24 hours like WickedFire has. Seriously. I wasn not expecting growth and overactive users like I've witnessed over the last 24 hours. This is unreal. My buddy Lee Dodd launched his own webmaster forum, and when he showed me his stats I was pretty impressed.. 350 or so posts, around 30 something users, and 75 new threads, wow! But then this forum came about, and I swear to you all, I thought it was going to be 10 or 20 of my friends and blog readers and that's about it for the next few months.. NEVER did I expect or foresee over 2000 posts and over 100 new users in 24-incredible fuckin hours!

All I can say is thank you to everyone, the users, the community, whatever. This place is like no other forum either. I don't feel as if I'm in direct competition with anyone, because all of the other forums out there are very focused on professionalism and pure business, with lots of really gay/corny/cheesy antics in their general chat areas. Really, other forums are not so much fun to hang out on, and that's really what I was going for here.. someplace FUN and ENTERTAINING where webmasters can literally shoot the shit with one another without caring about being banned or moderated for swearing or speaking up. If you want to get serious, do it, I don't care.. if you think this forum is too lax for you, shut up and ship out, because we only want a specific breed of webmaster here. People who have a sense of humor, who literally "want to break free" from the typical webmaster mold, and who want to meet new people, make friends and network the shit out of themselves.

Is there a paid members section on here? i remember reading on your blog about it.

There will be in about a month or so. I'm going to wait until the free areas build themselves up a bit more. I also need to get a list of things that the premium members area will include.

Couldn't of said it any better myself. Although I'm new to some of these websites such as sitepoint the first thing that turned me off about them was how strict they are. I love how free you are allowed to be here.

And yea... this really must be setting records.. 2000+ posts in 24 hours is just nuts.

Goodluck Jon! Although.. I dont think you need it

Sounds cool,i'll def sign up. I don't care if its alittle expensive.

You have sort of a cult of personality thing here, since you're one of only a handful of people that are getting the results you are getting, among tens or hundreds of thousands of people trying to do the same thing, and you're young, cool and accessible, which makes you even more unique.

And so this explodes  ;)

can you give an example of a privelige that I would actually pay for on a forum?

This is what Jon said in another thread...

In the premium section I'm going to make sure everyone earns at least $1000 a month. I will help everyone personally until they do it. I'm confident that everyone has what it takes at their disposal, no matter how much or how little amount of cash or experience they have.

I'll pay for that anyday.

I joined because I knew this forum was gonna be huge, and I like joining things when they first start... makes you feel like your more a part of the community :)
