why do you say that? I think this forum is orgrainized properly to get maximum exposure and posts being read.

He runs the risk of a forum full of junk which isnt going to tempt many webmasters into joining.

I disagree. Jon is running a website for his own pleasure, not to get rich. He already has all the money he needs.

He wants this forum to compete with sitepoint and digitalpoint otherwise he wouldnt make comparisons there would be no need to.
 
Yes.. the forum is hosted on it's own server, and if things start to slow down, I'll get another server for some load balancing. It's not really about how much traffic the site is getting, but how many users are on here at the same time simultaneously posting, refreshing, browsing, etc.. From what I know this server can handle up to 1000 users at any given time without a problem. I have over 4 Terabytes of bandwidth to use too, so I don't think it will be a problem. On top of the fact that Mark is a really good Project Manager, and is proving himself many times over, so he's on top of everything and doing a damn fine job at that.

How much did that server cost you? Or, alternatively, who are you doing the hosting through?

Really not to much Junk around here... maybe in the "Shooting The Shit" forum.. which is what its made for... right?

If you look in every other sub-forum they have a pretty good ammount of information for just the first day... I've already learned a few new things.
 
Well, I don't think we've gotten a ton of new members, but the ones here are a bunch of postwhores haha
