They're both drowning, and a stranger can only save one - their dog or your child?

Just as simple as the other thread. A stranger is standing by the riverbank. Their dog is drowning, and so is your child. The stranger will only be able to save one.

Which should they save? If your answer isn't consistent with the other poll, please explain why in the comments.

For the sake of this situation, let's assume your child is a young adult by now.

EDIT: THERE I COMBINED 11 DROWNING THREADS INTO ONE. HAVE FUN

Yup dog obviously. My dog is a true friend and has been there for me for my whole life whereas babies are obviously new and don't have an emotional connection and can't even fetch anything

This is an obvious answer for anyone with at least two brain cells. You save the HUMAN. Human > Dog.

And you know if it was my kid drowning, you better save my kid rather than your dog, because I'm pretty sure I'd kill you otherwise. Dog dies, or you die, that's the option you'd have.

try this one: a classmate (whose a dood) or jessica alba, who would you save?

Jessica Alba is a tiny thing, I'm sure I could get them both. I'd go for the classmate first though, just because him being heavier/larger it's going to be harder to get him out of the water. So get the hard work done first and then go back for Alba.
