I gotta ask you guys, why do you use AIM? I have been using MSN for ages, and although I hate it, most of the people who want to talk to me are using MSN.

Any reasons why the preferences? :eatmousepointer:

I use different IM networks, especially ICQ and MSN. Sometimes I use Skype which encrypts conversations.
To manage different networks I'm curretnlyusing meebo, which works very well.

I use trillian, actually.

Got accounts at ICQ (but always forget the frigging NUMBER..damn) so I don't use it.
Contact family and friends through skype sometimes and have some people using MSN.

I use AIM because my past 2 companies used it, so I have a lot of contacts on it.
Oh... and my account is NOT a frigging number.

Maybe there is a connection between AOL & AIM?
I mean MANY citizens in US use AOL for their internet access and AIM is part of AOL. :)

Well I decided to jump on the AIM bandwagon now as well :) Now I gotta find someone who will talk to me on AIM :)

Only used ICQ now since it began - still have friends in it.
Sometimes use MSN as people from work and some family friends use it. Not sure how populour AIM is outside US though. In australia at least, I think MSN messanger is the most widley used.

Well I am officially a chat app junkie :) I hate using those all in one clients, they either never work for me or confuse me who is who, or don't give me options I am used to.

Why would you not use trillian? It has some sweet plugins. I couldn't live without their logging system or spell check.
Dunno, it just shuts down when it starts up.

AIM is for kids and AOL users.
Yet you still have it ;)

I'm using linux so I use GAIM or Kopete. I've been using Kopete lately, it's quick and simple. I don't like all those screwy graphics features found in 'advanced' IM programs. I just want to type out some IMs and receive them.

For the most part, AIM is an American thing. The rest of the world uses MSN.

I personally use AIM, MSN, and Yahoo! just so I can be available to anyone on any network. Trillian is awesome but right now I'm using Gaim on Ubuntu.

I always hear "AIM is an US thing".

Never forget I am Germany based. Several companies I worked for used AIM.
That's how I ended up with it.
