Why do networks do this?

Well then.... definitely will slide on EWA if they are going to run internally against you....

All networks will run internally against you - even the ones that say they don't. Higher payouts mean they can pay more for your traffic and still be profitable. Greed is a powerful motivator - wouldn't you do the same?

The only way to avoid it is develop your own product or start your own network. AM by definition will have ups and downs because of the business model. We take advantage of market inefficiencies, and once those inefficiencies are closed the offers are no longer profitable, and you have to move on to the next one. Hence, the constant grind required to do it.

An outed/stolen landing page isn't his gripe, it's that the cute little offer that he wants to only put out for him got pimped out by the network for a 50 affiliate gang bang.

If you blank your referrers they can't out your traffic source. That helps keep offers safe from networks blabbing since they have no clue how it's being promoted.

  • Always host your tracker on a dedicated server by its self.
  • Change domains and hosts frequently.
  • Don't push offers through networks, go direct if possible.

lol@thread. Move on guys. Theres REALLY nothing you can do except bitch & moan in this thread.

EWA does not tweet / rank / circulate information on campaigns that I am not running internally with my media buyers. We never "out" affiliate campaigns and bluntly, we prefer you to hide your referrals & techniques from us anyways. If possible, it's always best to keep your traffic sources to yourself, with any network.

In our last guide, for example, we disclosed one of our traffic sources that we have been using for ages now and shot ourself in the foot - lost all our impressions because of the "gold rush" that occurred. We don't even share EVERY campaign that we run - just ones that we know there is room for affiliate creativity.

Affiliates fear that networks are "outing" or directly trying to steal traffic from their campaigns always has and will be something out there. Only time will show that it's not in a networks best interest to do that in the long run, at all.

Always keep this in mind: affiliates are here for a reason - every single one has a new take on an offer, a new traffic source, a new adcopy, a new image. Affiliates innovate - that's why this business model works for advertisers too. Without you guys advertisers would have a team of 5 people buying all the media, making half the money they could have due to the lack of creativity you guys offer.

So shut the hell up and fucking leave then. Anyone worth their salt isn't gonna bitch, they're going to scale. Just because you see a shitload of tweets saying it's 'killing' it on POF or FB, doesn't mean there aren't 40 other sources out there that will get you the same results, and 99% of the newb idiots won't try those sources. They'll dump $300 in facebook, make $330, and move to another offer.

Fucking hell.... I like you Man!

For newbies: Baby you gotta understand that there hundreds of other sources to drive quality traffic on the website. Most of them are free too :) I'll probably start a thread to discuss about them in near future.

OR they could just copy what everyone is doing until profit margins are as small as possible. That's basically 99% of affiliate marketing these days.

Solution is to go direct ASAP and it won't be hard as you have a proven record with their offers.

And if you can, become the advertiser.

Affiliates can make a lot of money but when you look at the whole picture, we aren't worth shit...

Exactly. So why run with EWA? They just broken big network offers and jack pages.

If an affiliate is killing it on an offer, they run and tell all the other affiliates.."Everyone, this offer is killing it, run this offer now!"
Do they realize they are screwing over the guy who made the offer "hot" in the first place?

Happened to me numerous times. I'll take an offer no one is running, beat whatever shit EPC it had before, then a few days later I see the AM's all tweeting about that shit..

Need a network that keeps their mouth shut.

Cause they are greedy pieces of shit.

Can't stand networks that do that. Personally I don't give out any af's stats or even what offers work.

I have had many times where i hit an obscure offer hard. When i asked my AM not to go and hype the offer... he agreed and everything was fine. Just ask your AM not to hype it, if you are the only one hitting volume on it.

I don't know how EWA became a part of this, but I know as a network they rock out. Keep banking Eagle$$Nothing is going to stop my money. As marketers it is Go Big or Go Home. Someone might have more talent, or more money, but they should never out work you. Grind, persistence, and creativity level the playing field.

Communication is the key. Period!

If you get an up front agreement and they violate it they should have lost your trust and move on.

As Ruck mentioned a lot of time maybe you'll get something working on a source. And they want X sales per day. You're producing Y but there's still another Z to be filled. You're working on certain sources and business experience and insight would tell me it would work on 30 other sources I'm familiar with, understand and and know other guys that are good at. I'd offer them up to you first. If you didn't have the budget, knowledge or time and turned them down I'd ask if you mind if I gave it to someone else if I didn't let them compete with you on the sources you're running. We want everyone to win.

Guess what if you're the guy that came up with the idea and bought on 4 sources cause that's honestly a lot to manage. Then 3-4 other affs ran on totally different sources. Guess what you'd be in line to be handed something to run on one your sources I'd know you understand and wasn't competing against the original Aff. A lot of times I'd put you together with the other affiliates running the campaign so you could share what you're doing and learn together.

We work like this with a lot of our publishers.

I think there's room for everyone to play in the space and not burn things out. But honestly everyone needs to be concerned about everyone else is doing. And have everyone others in the industry in mind.

We can all make a lot and really help each other. But respect and considering others needs to be done from all sides. Affiliates, Networks and Advertisers.

Just rules I live by. As I want everyone to get rich!

My 3 cents.
