Which Country Would Be The Most Insulated From A U.S. Default Or Dollar Crash?

Somewhere in Africa.

In terms of best climate, it has to be Kenya. I visited about 10 years ago and I loved the climate. Once you got away from the coast, it's all so high above sea level that it's temperate. But because they are dead on the equator there is no winter.

According to wikipedia, Nairobi has a max temperature of 23.6C and min temperature of 13.6C, and Eldoret has a max temperature of 23.6C and a min temperature of 9.5C.

Once you get out of the cities, there are signs all over saying "Elephants have right of way". We were driving south of Nairobi towards the Masai Mara and had to stop at one point because this herd of six elephants with small baby in their midst were crossing the road in a slow stately fashion.

I don't think the politics of the place is very calm, but if you buy a nice coffee farm outside the cities, you are probably safe as houses.
