What's a fair rate to pay writers?



It depends on the type of material that you're asking for, and the length of the piece. I think it's more fair to pay a writer by the hour though, and not on the number of words. Because the duration of writing is what really reflects the thought and effort put in by the writer.
 
You have to balance things out. You should pay them depends on how they work and the context of the article and the quality as well.
 
I think something around $5-$10 for 500 words or so and be prepared it will be good rewritten text, just from my experience here really. So what do you say about it ? How much it really can go there. But I am more than sure it's enough for web content.
 
This FAQ doesn't have a simple answer. Most intermediate to advanced freelance writers charge between 10 cents and $1 per word, depending on the amount of work they will have to put into the project. But, the way they bill that average range will vary.
 
Wow, I have been doing writing on and off since 2009 and I am lucky if I can find someone to pay me $10 for 500 words. I'm a native writer too. Kudos to everyone paying so well for receiving content! :-)
 
It varies greatly. anywhere from $1/100 words to $20/words. For decent quality web content on non-technical topics I'd say paying around $3/100 words would be good. You can get good rates with freelance platforms like Narrato.io and TextBroker starting $1.5/100 words. A good idea would be to do a few tests - sometimes you find really good writers for low prices and then you can save them for future use in the platform.
 
As a starter, I'd like to get a fair rate for me a starter. I do have accomplished a Major in English.

Seeing that articles are a trend, it's no surprise for me to try it. I am also a bookworm. I like to write long and immersive articles.
 
Very subjective as you said. Depends on how much research is needed to complete that article or piece of content.

Lowest - $1 per 100 words
Highest - Paid by the hour for a long 1000 words case study. Costed me $250, well worth it.
 
I am a writer in the philiphines, and most of my clients would pay me $10 for a wide array of writing niches and in my opinion, it's more than fair.
 
Just in case this is still relevant, fair rates these days for GOOD writers is about $0.02 per word. This will be enough to get you passable articles that range from the casual to the technical. Of course, if you want much better quality, you will need to pay a lot more..
