I'm a night-owl, often going to sleep at 3:00 and waking at 9:30. But, it's killing my productivity. I can probably get twice as much done if I wake earlier, being most productive in the morning, after the gym. So, I'm considering making a major change in my sleep schedule (ultimately waking at 4:30 a.m.).

Everyone works differently, of course. Some do their best work at 2:00 a.m. For those of you who are seriously productive, what is your sleep schedule? When do you wake? How much sleep do you need to maximize your productivity over the long-term (most of us can pull a few all-nighters to get projects done)?

My sleep schedule is uber fucked, sometimes I go to bed at 10 pm and wake up at 5 am, sometimes I go to bed at 7 am and wake up at noon, sometimes I don't go to bed at all. I have to start getting into a routine because its really killing my productivity. I'd like to go to bed around 1-2 am and wake up around 9 am.

On weekends when i'm hitting up the bars I go to bed around 4 or 5 am sometimes 6am and wake up at around noon but during the week I try and force myself to bed at about 12 to 1 and wake up at about 10 to 10:30 am.

Absolutely earliest 8AM

I don't even know if my alarm clock still works...

As early as 6 and as late as 10... it depends. Doesn't affect my productivity though. I am NOT a morning person.

This discussion came up last year too. But hell, why not ask it over and over again, may be some of us have managed to "fix" our sleep schedules.

I kind of like the unpredictability. On the downside, it fucking blows in the winter when you could get as little at 3 or 4 hours of daylight, half of it to the sinking sun.

6:30 but oooooh how I would like to just sleep til 8. I dont think that's too much to ask for?

I'm most productive after 8pm - everything seems a lot quieter then so I can just get my head down and do some work.

It's a bit crap for my employer though as they like me to be in the office from 9am to 5pm lol.

In bed by midnight, usually, and out of bed between 8:30-9:30am. I have a hard time getting to sleep most nights, so I linger in bed and wait for the grogginess to go away.

Just depends really, I can sleep 12 hrs. with no problem. It's complicated not to. I'm actually too used to it really. Could be due to drinking. Go to sleep at 2am., wake-up at 2pm after hearing the sounds of "cha-ching", - "wake up, and check your stats, lol", or who knows how long I could sleep.

I've started to notice sleeping more hours makes it harder to wake up, I think this is how it's hard for me to work a first shift job. Hell even at a 2nd shift job starting at 1pm I've been late a few times.

I think if I can keep it at 6-7 hrs., I can wake up on time, anything more, I'll just keep sleeping.

Pretty much whenever I want. Usually go to bed around 7am or 8am and then get up between 2pm and 3pm. I get most of my work done during the late night hours when it's quiet and I am free from distractions. I am a night person for sure. I work online fulltime, so I can pretty much sleep and wake up whenever I want. :)

I go to bed around 5AM since it is quieter in my house from 8PM - 5AM. I wake around noon for 7 hours.

That leaves me the afternoon to workout, jog, play sports, and do other hobbies. I "go to work" at 9PM in my office.
