What is your development setup like?

Trying to get ideas for upgrading my development setup. Currently I just run a desktop (athlon 3200+ 1 gig ram geforce 6600 gt).

Ideally I would like to upgrade and get a nice laptop and keep my monitor and keyboard, and then be able to run a dual monitor setup similar to what I do at work.

Single desktop, 3200 AMD64

Not gonna change it for anything. I am always thinking about getting a laptop, but whenever I have access to my girl's I don't use it productively.

Dual monitor is definitely an "I wanna, I wanna", though.

19'' LCD 8ms monitor, 2.4GHz P4 with 1GB RAM, 80GB HD, DVD burner and CD burner.

When I get a spare $3000.00 I may buy a nice laptop.

I know what you mean about the productivity drop. Whenever I bring my laptop from work home to work, I tend to bring it into the living room and watch tv.

Although my company has a 4000 square foot office, I am currently overseeing operations from a Sony VAIO notebook. Nothing beats the convenience.
