typical wf tuff guy. millions/thousands...if you believe someone's banking thousands off gaming offers then you're quite the idiot yourself.

Do you just sit in front of your computer all day?

Do you fellowship at all in real life with people?

People that can help your business I mean.

Go meet some people. Go to Affiliate summit. Join the Chamber of Commerce. Do something. Get out of the bubble.

Take your shit seriously.

It's a amazing how many times I thought I had a handle on something until I ran into someone else blowing me out the water.

One of my mentors is a guy that's worth many many millions of dollars.
He has bought, sold, started, failed and successfully run oodles of businesses.

Several years ago I was working on getting funding for a real estate deal in my area. After bumping heads with the commercial loan lender at one of the banks over trivial shit for almost a month, I happened to mention to my mentor what I was looking to do. He told me to meet him at a spot for drinks later that evening. I get to the spot and the fucking bank president was there with him plowing though a 5th of Jack Daniels.

I gave the bank president an overview of my deal and he liked it. He suggested that I talk to another developer in the area who had done business with the bank for years and years. See if that guy would sign off on my deal as a consultant since I was kinda new at the game. That would give the bank the peace of mind that I would not fuck up and they would get their money back.

I did and they approved the deal and it was quite successful.

I said all that to say that you need to get around smarter, richer, more successful people to force yourself to up your game.

Yes you make money on the internet, but a lot of shit is accomplished by picking up the phone and dealing with people on a personal level.

Go meet some people.

Amazon sucks because of their 24hour cookie but I hate messing with a million individual merchants.. I'm a simple guy and I just want something I can set and forget so its a tradeoff. Not as profitable as EPN but good to diversify yourself. A shit load of products. Trusted merchant, good conversions.

Looks like me and Scherer are on the same page too.

I wanted to point this out because I'm learning that Amazon is not a horrible way to go. I recently started sending one site's traffic there (there's a good deal of qualified traffic), and yeah, the cookie sucks and the commissions are less, but with free super saver shipping, it converts like a mofo.

In the end, the higher conversion rate makes more money, and it's a better deal for my users.

You should just see the shit people buy on Amazon after you send enough traffic there. I'm selling anything from the new Eminem album to $250 watches. It's one of my favorite things to do every morning - What kind of ridiculousness did I sell on Amazon?

Go find a new XYZ that's gonna be hot and sell the piss out of it.

+1 rep wasted two years by sitting in front of the PC all day while I was stagnant.

The fact that your a "hard worker" doesn't mean jack shit. Just because you work hard doesn't mean you will be rewarded. The person who works from 9-5 roofing a house is working a shitload harder than I am. Think of people in third world countries who work 24/7 in 110 degree heat just to put food on the table to survive. Anyone who is "making a living" is working hard... it's a requirement, unless of course your super poor and getting government help. (then your just a bitch)

Example, I've only got 2 employees but both are harder working and better at what they are doing then I am. They could both be on their own making 10x more then what I'm paying them but they aren't. They are not entrepreneurs... plain and simple. They don't see things the same way I do. You need to think of yourself as the quarter back of a football team. Or maybe even the coach. Your job is to map out/visualize something and coordinate it...a.k.a make it happen.

Shit, I could work 18 hours a day posting shit on Yahoo answers and probably make some money, but sure as hell ain't going to get rich.

Like I said, what matters most is your fucking plan. Your idea or business model is what is going to either make or break you.

The saying that if you "work hard" you will be successful is a joke. You need to have brains. You need to know how to manage your time, employees, money, etc.

When I say brains I don't mean like mathematical/analytical type shit. I failed math 2 outta the 3 years I was in high school and dropped out with a GPA of just over 1.0. lol

So I'll be the first to admit I am not very smart at all. Pretty fucking dumb actually. But one thing I do have is creativity and the ability to see things outside the box. Being able to recognize an opportunity is what makes you an entrepreneur or not.

Example, last night I was with some buddies and we were watching the TV show Cops. I could not stop thinking about what an insane ROI the creator of that show must get. I mean he must have almost no production cost. Fuck, all they do is have a camera guy drive around with a cop. Do you think ANY of my friends would ever be thinking of that? Fuck no, they are enjoying the show. And if I would have brought it up they would have been like... "dude, why would you even think about that? who the fuck cares..." lol

So I guess my advice would be to stop being a "hard worker" and start being an entrepreneur/business man.

^ This.

The most important thing is to identify the opportunities and find a way to take advantage of it.

Hard working guys? Specialists? I’m none of that* but that is no problem, that can be “rented”.

* (well, I’m an Geological engineer but I’ve never practiced my profession)

there's reason #1 you're not ballin. how much money-making time and actual cash does having a child consume annually?

not saying having kids is a bad idea, just maybe your top priority has never been "making real money"

making real money?

what is real money?
not working hard for your money or being smart like every wf poster, working little and banking?

LOL kids giving out life advice LOL

Yes, babies are a HUGE inconvenience... LMAO

Not sure if you're referring to me but I'm far from a "kid".

Any dipshit that can type can easily see that on average it costs anywhere from $5k to $15k per year to raise a kid. Anyone who refers to themselves as the "SEO King" should be able to easily turn that $5-$15k investment into decent profits which can then be reinvested again and again.

And you might do well to listen to some of the "kids" on here when they do give out life advice. Ryan Eagle is destroying it for someone his age, and he built his shit from the ground up. If you're doing better than that "kid" or numerous other ones that frequent WF I'd be surprised.

thanks for wasting your oxygen.

but on a serious note...i hear you guys...most giving great advise. appreciate the time and input

get stuck in a rut like most americans working an 8-5 job...it's not like i don't have work...but i get the jist of what some of you are saying...not like i didn't know this before.

That's because most American don't plan/map out their future. Obviously no one can do it perfect because shit happens and things change... but 99% don't even try and if they do it's a weak ass effort. They live day to day so that would explain why they eventually get "stuck" with a job. If you would have thought ahead and done some planning, you might not have got yourself into that situation.

That's not an excuse anyways. I know one guy who had a 9-5...got home, had dinner with his family and then worked from 8pm to 2-3am..only to wake up 4 hours later to get ready for work. He did this for almost an entire year. 2 years later guess what? He is banking well over 7 figures this year. This is not a "guru story" either. I personally know him and know for a fact he does these numbers.

You just have a shitty ass attitude.

made money for 2 weeks then completely shut down.
glad you got it now and are running it now...i gave that up last year.

lol i don't know why you personally aren't making money but to bash a niche like gaming is lol, I guarantee there are at least 10 people on this board doing 4-5 figures daily with game.

What do you mean by completely shut down? Did your ad CTR drop(did you create new ones), did the campaign stop converting(did you try really dialing in the demo/day-parting/testing across multiple networks), did the advertiser shut down(find a similar offer with similar conversions) or is there another reason?

as for your seo statement...i make money with seo...not as much as i'd like but that's not my focus...
