Looks like me and Scherer are on the same page too.
I wanted to point this out because I'm learning that Amazon is not a horrible way to go. I recently started sending one site's traffic there (there's a good deal of qualified traffic), and yeah, the cookie sucks and the commissions are less, but with free super saver shipping, it converts like a mofo.
In the end, the higher conversion rate makes more money, and it's a better deal for my users.
You should just see the shit people buy on Amazon after you send enough traffic there. I'm selling anything from the new Eminem album to $250 watches. It's one of my favorite things to do every morning - What kind of ridiculousness did I sell on Amazon?
Go find a new XYZ that's gonna be hot and sell the piss out of it.
Amazon has been really good to me. There are some crazy stupid niches that I've been killing it in - one of which has been converting at 11% and is currently paying my mortgage. All SEO income that I set up a year and a half ago.
eBay was fantastic in 2009, went downhill in early 2010. I'm still making enough through their program that I wouldn't have to work my day job if I didn't want to. It's all set up so I pay my contractors once a month, pay bills once a month and the rest of the month I just fuck around and do what I want.
Adsense payments pay my gas each month.
I've yet to make any CPA offer really work well.
