I've heard of constantcontact but I want to have other options. I have a list currently of approx. 45,000 of people registered to receive newsletters. However, once I start sending out newsletters on a regular basis (i havent been doing this in the past, I expect that number to drop). What service would you recommend?

Aweber... nuff said. ConstantContact is also really good, but just a tad more expensive than Aweber.

What are some of the things to consider when choosing an email service?

I thought I remembered back in the day, some ISP's where charging email services large sums of money to be added to white lists. Is this still true?

I would think the ability to show your own email / domain in the from field would be a top priority.

Ooooo- I like them haha. Do you have any promotional code that you know of or any affiliate ID? I'd be more than happy to put you in if you want

Are you looking to be a high volume email deployer? or just send a few out here and there?

You might want to look in to skylist as well. One of the biggest emailers in the industry owns them.

the most important thing to consider when working in email is deliverability. Price you pay means nothing if your email is blocked and not delivered.

"high volume email deployer" -- Hahahahahaha

Isn't that what Scott Richter called it when he was on the Daily Show? I love that line.

But they don't allow automation of adding email addresses obtained through vbulletin registration to be added to the mailing list without another email to the user to opt them in (which I already do with vbulletin)
