as far as i remembered internet trolling was more about posting off-topic or flaming other members, but WF is a very different place...
 
I think Moxie is referring to the act of looking (trolling) for gay sex on Usenet. In which case, I am unsurprised that so many level 9 wizard trolls hang out in this place.

yes, this was the golden days of internet trolling when few people knew what true trolling really was

this was when yahoo voice chat was chock full of internet noobs who took the webs srsly. we made so many people cry and/or rage on voice chat, you feel bad for a moment but the glory of a troll well done soon overtakes any feelings of guilt you have.

that was when trolling was good.

now everyone knows what trolling is, everyone is a troll and massive troll desenitization has occured. you can't get that kind of reaction out of people anymore :(
 
Well, I'm talking about when it had more to do with baiting people for attention or whatever. Linking to a dickroll wouldn't be trolling in that way, while starting a thread saying that you think dickrolls should be banned from the internet would be, if the person starting the thread didn't really believe that.
