Dude, in L.A, you ought to leave Six Flags alone, and go somewhere unique in L.A.
like.. Universal Studios, perhaps visit some of the movie studios etc (if you're into that stuff).. In Hollywood there's Mann's Chinese theater, Walk of Fame, Getty Museum, The Hollywood sign, and all the bars and clubs you've seen in the movies like The Whisky etc.
On the way to S.D. there is also LEGOLAND in Carlsbad (just off the I-5), which is amazing if you're into that stuff, and again, something you won't find in every major city like Six Flags. Cardiff by the Sea is a nice little beach community just north of San Diego, and just about all beach access in Laguna and south of there is amazing and beautiful.
Sea World is also great (in S.D.).
You will NOT be bored.
