USA vs Algeria

US is starting to appreciate "Football"

There are plenty of soccer fans here. There are just a lot more "American Football" fans that grew up with their football coaches telling them soccer is for pussies, so now their entire life's goal is to come on forums and knock soccer just because they're bitter they never made it to the NFL. For the record the US has been involved with soccer for quite awhile now. I think World Cup '94 pretty much kicked it off. We finally have a team worth watching now, that's the big difference.

So you didn't make the high-school football team and had to resort to playing on the soccer team, eh?

I kid. I kid.

You've got some really good individuals. Donovan took his goal really well and the striker, Jozy Altidore, although missed an absolute sitter looks a great player. But you play well as a team and thats what matters.

As for Germany v Ghana, dont be suprised if the Ghanaians get a result. I would love to see USA v Germany and for the US to knock em out. I would laugh. Alot.

lol, never had any desire to play football. But I did play club select soccer from about the age of 8 through high school.

Meh, Ghana couldn't even win against Australia, with Australia a man down most of the game.

All the fake flops and theatrical fake injuries is pure pussy shit. But at least it's a real sport unlike NASCAR.

So true, and it only appears to be getting worse.
Although this seems to be a problem in most sports nowadays.

considering half the players in the NHL finals were playing with sprained joints /fractured bones or pulled muscles/ligaments I would disagree...

and soccer refs are terrible...I don't even want to waste my time watching anything besides world cup now after seeing how bad the refs are.

I have to say, the reason the refs are so bad is because they pull them from around the world. This means you get fucking shitty refs from Latin America, Africa, etc. If you watch the EPL, they generally have the best of the best. This really isn't usually a problem in the elite leagues.
