Unhappy Contest Winners

Without wading into this argument, the concept of RSS-to-blog is nothing new. There are numerous tools/scripts available that can accomplish this task easily.

A while ago, this tactic worked well, but, like virtually all widely-used content-manipulation tactics, it’s now much less effective especially where Google is concerned. Nevertheless, I can still see sites earning a few dollars per day using this method – but the real power of employing this strategy is, as Jon mentioned, en masse! But knocking hundreds or even thousands of RSS-to-blogs is not every one's cup of tea.

My cup of tea is making money and I will try anything and everything until I make it there. Decided... *wow, these forums are shaping me up!*:glowingeyes_sml:
If all you're about is money you're not going to get far.

But anyways, if you want to spawn up a couple thousand websites all by youself, do it.

Jon, we understand this has power. But not for us. We dont have a team to work with.

And as far as what could be another prize.. I have no idea.

Ok, listen up and everyone quit whining and put what you got to use. I know what you got. I have several sites using the exact same thing and it does work...it does make money!

If you already knew about the functionality and how to do it that's great, you have done your homework, and in that case if you have put it to use correctly you would know that there is in fact value in these type of sites because you would be making money.

Rss feeds are around for one reason...to push the content to other sites right? As far as SE's not liking them...Google for instance, that's BS, because my sites have several pages that rank on page 1-2 results and get a ton of traffic from Google as well as other SE's.

If you won the contest and already have a site/script like the one Jon gave you, that sucks, but...there is no magical script or magical tool that is going to make you a ton of money right out of the box, the magic is in your work, dedication and persistence with what you have. If you keep at it and keep churning things out...you are going to make money, I do.

As far as the script not having a built in niche....damn it isn't that hard! Find a few sites with rss feeds that provide the type of content you want, and input the feed URL....bam you have a site full of great content!

revlimiter, good attitude. If you do in fact do this, post your results in a couple of months, I guarantee you will be happy and it will shut everyone up.

Oh I will :)

I didn't win, nor try, but still have an opinion on the topic: No matter how great what was given is, it [apparently] still isn't what was promised.

And THAT is near inexcusable...

No..don't shut up. The problem is that Jon promised a site with unique content which would've been build by his team. I'm sure that this wp massing will work. But it's not what most contest winners wanted. First of all they feel ripped off by not getting something unique, but just a freeware webframe with no actual content, which can be downloaded for free by everyone. So don't say they should stop whining, they have the right to. I'm glad i didn't waste to much time on this "contest"

Haha Wow, Wtf is that ramble. Everyone knows that even the shittiest of scraper sites make money, but also why would your content on your site want to be RSS. That would seem to push your site to the top of page 1 in the supplemental results.

I dont know what jon gave these guys, but when I first read the contest I was thinking probably what the others were thinking " that jon was going to give these winners a kick ass site with a solid design and kick ass original content" but from the sounds of it it seems like this wasnt what was gave to the winners.

If your building sites by scraping results and rss feeds then you will make money, I know I have a few.. but the whole downfall to this is the life span of these sites. I have a script that can spit out a few sites an hour, but when the Big G slaps another update and your sites start getting dropped, then its an issue.

I am not saying because I do not know the product, but if your building sites with dynamic pages with 1000's of pages, then the life expectancy is shit. If you do get the rare ones that escape the wrath of G then you will make some cash.

But to make 1000's of these sites on different ip's on different c-blocks, wether u are using domains with sub-domians are what, you still would need a lot of time and energy to make 100's a day using adsense and ypn. Not counting the money that you soend on domain names, once their banned their done, so hope the sites get picked up quick and you recoup the cost of hosting and domain registering.

Key there is .info domains in bulk.:thefinger:

Jon, it really seems you need someone to manage your contests. ;)
The fact that what was delivered is NOT what was promised remains.

The winners and everyone else who participated and did not win did deliver, however. They posted like maniacs making this the fastest growing forum I have seen in a while, basically kickstarting this thing in no time.

So here is me standing on the sidelines wondering how you will handle the situation.

I know what feedpress and rssgm are, I would like to look at another one with a different footprint.

It really doesn't have a different "footprint"

I am going to finish up my work that is fairly urgent for now and come back with a response that should answer all of the main questions. I'll be addressing this thread sometime this evening. Sit tight until then and try to calm down. ;)
