Classic Coke
Let's be honest with ourselves. Coca-Cola is pretty much drinking liquid death. But we do it. We were imprinted to do it at a young age, by our parents, who were imprinted as well. There is seriously a social divide whether you're a Coca-Cola person or a Pepsi Generation. They're both extremely bad for your health.
Everyone knows the story of New Coke, Coca-Cola in an attempt to revive it's slowing down sales introduced a new product calling it "New Coke", which tasted more like Pepsi. The Pepsi marketing team had a field day with it with advertisement in the lines of "Coca-Cola board members stating: Eureka, It tastes more like Pepsi".
But that didn't explain the protestors outside Coca-Cola's offices going beserk.
I'm not going to bore you will all the details, but the one thing I recall from all the stories that fully explained the reasoning was this
The CEO of Coca-Cola at the time of the protest got a call from an old lady. She went on and on about why they should not change the formula of Coca-Cola.
The CEO asked the old lady, "When was the last time you drank a Coke?"
The Old lady said, "It's been over 50 years."
The CEO: "If you don't drink it anymore, Why are you so worried about us changing the formula?"
The Old Lady: "Cause you're messing up with my memories..."
The CEO got off the phone with the old lady, and within a couple of days the announcement of the return to the Classic Coke was made to the world.
