Yeah but just watching the opening montage of athletes there was a lot of sick GoPro type footage that puts you right there. There is a lot of extreme sports in the Winter Olympics. I'm sure that the advances in quality of HD film gear since Vancouver will certainly make for some epic moments in Olympic coverage.

But I suspect billions of dollars disappearing into the bank accounts of Putin's cronies has something to do with it as well.

The olympics is a giant scam these days, it starts with palms being greased about 8 years out when cities bid for the privilege of hosting the games and doesn't end until all the cronies divvy up the newly constructed infrastructure after everyone goes home.

Apparently the end result of this massive farce is that some of Putin's buddies end up with a shiny new (poorly built) tourist resort on the black sea, paid for with other people's money.
