Just stay outta my verticals...hahahah

I'll think about it.

Lol

No, there's really so many niches out there with potential, it will never get saturated.

You just have to pick the right ones.

Mucho thanks goes out to the OP and KimboSlice here, if it weren't for you guys I would have never thought of this idea.

My partner in this project and myself just started our campaign today. From the looks of it this is going to be an absolute goldmine. While I will not be revealing our niche, I will try my best to give you guys some pointers.

I partnered with a friend of mine (not on here) who is a website designer and programmer. What we did is we created 50 sites by state name (Ex::www florida(niche)

We then broke that down into further niches and sites, for a total of over 200 sites. (Think geo-targetting)

Now, we will sell every state/ and or region to one business owner in that state or region of that state.

Ok, you guys are probably thinking "Ok, no shit Sherlock".

Well, the key to this is to find a HUNGRY niche and provide them with an unbeatable offer.

We lease the site for $100 monthly, charge $300 set-up fee and charge a PPC Managment Fee...which is $1 a click

Now, I created the sales script for this and I started calling these businesses today, around 5pm Eastern Time.

I called 20 businesses and locked down 3 clients within 2 hours. For us, it was a 30% conversion rate.

I'm telling you, if you have any doubts this will work please go back to DP. This shit works. But you can't just slap a webpage up and use poor selling skills. Find that hungry market, research it, develop your plan, make it unique and you will make money.

I just thought I'd post my results so far in this and I hope it helps some of you to start picking up that phone and make some sales.

If anyone is interested in me developing a sales pitch for them, let me know

Please do not ask me what niche this is as I will not be discussing that. Please use your head.

This is exactly what I have done with 10 sites, unfortunately I was only able to sell 4 of them for 750 EURO each. The problem why i have sold just 4 of them is not because a sales issue, but because a "google dance". First page rankings were turning into page 3 and page 4 rankings.

Then pick a few longtail keywords and start cheap ppc campaigns targeting them. Sell that benefit as well.

Alrighty... just finished reading this whole thread and decided to give it a shot.

Made a subdomain on one of my aged domains (can get em pretty cheap 10+ years for $75) targeting a medium sized town with a niche unmentioned here but makes lotsa business. Waiting to get indexed - will post updates.

Although I haven't done anything yet, here are some helpful tips/links.

Finding a city - Stats about all US cities - real estate, relocation info, house prices, home value estimator, recent sales, maps, race, income, photos, education, crime, weather, houses, and more
> Lists all towns and shows population. The more pop., the more competing businesses, the higher chance of a sale

Finding Businesses - Yellow Pages Local Directory - YELLOWPAGES.COM
> Want to make sure there are several businesses you can pitch your site to. Can use a free scraper I have up at Pizard Web Developers (site which I am also using to direct people to contact me at after my future mailings)

Traffic Estimator - https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal
> Don't waste your time building a site that is not getting any searches - although generally if there are businesses in the area, there are also searches.

List of niches - general pastebin - Stuff - post number 1084620
> Someone posted this before. Nice list of possible markets to go into.

Made a page where I can direct interested buyers to... CyberconSys - Small Business Web Development Company

Coming up with direct mail template while site gets indexed and ranked.

Very nicely done!

Also, I have a quick n00bish question I guess:

I'm having a hard time getting the search engine spiders to come update pages that are already indexed. If I change the title tag for a page that is already ranked, what is a reasonable amount of time to wait for it to change in the search engine results? Any help is greatly appreciated, Thanks!!

While changing titles it will infortunate take a little while though. In one of my sites it took more or less 3-4 weeks.

Yea I'm slowly starting to realize that, and kinda freaking out about what I'm going to do once I actually lease out a page for real...I can't see my client being happy that 2 weeks or something like that of their one month lease has "Your Name Here Dentist" showing up in Google for their page!

Anyone else have any ideas how to get around this??

I just started working on this so maybe someone can point out a flaw with my plan.

I've been going after domains such as [cityname][niche].com as many have suggested. This way you can have your domain as your title sans ".com" Now you don't necessarily have to change the title, instead just change the content.

Place your link in a section where spiders crawl often.

Digg.com is not a bad decision.

Here are the top YP revenue categories (2005) according to YPA data:

Can't edit my post (mod/admin merge?)

1. Restaurants
2. Physicians & Surgeons
3. Auto Parts - New & Used
4. Auto Repairing & Services
5. Pizza (Ranks #13 on IYP List)
6. Auto Dealers – New & Used

Between these two top 10 lists and my previous one it should give you enough categories to cover :)

This is one way, there are lots more if you think about it and sometimes you need to employ multiple ways..

Ask stupid question: "Do you think yoursite.com a cool site?"

The question will be in google in less than 10 mins.
Yoursite.com oughta see changes in less than an hour.

To see whats really going on type in "viagra" to see what the spammers are doing.

there ya go.

^^^Once again Kimbo, much thanks!! I really appreciate your help so far.

Just a note, I've got about 6 pages that are ready to be leased for this month. I'm starting to sell on Monday. Considering I have no sales/cold calling experience I am kind of nervous about it, but my girlfriend has said she is willing to help cold call, so we will see how it goes. I will keep everyone updated!

PS: Do you think business owners will be more receptive to a female cold caller?
