Lol, yesterday I didn't have electricity for about 6 hours and since I have only electrical heating I was in a similar situation.

Last Halloween I got snowed in at a party with 20 other people.
A tree fell across the road and took down the power lines, shutting off the heat (electric), and preventing anyone from leaving the dead end street the house was on.
After a few hours of waiting around in the freezing house, we decided to chop up and burn all of the furniture in the fireplace.
It was a good time.

I always keep a propane heater onhand just in case of power outage or something.

However. burning green wood isn't exactly the best way to keep warm. It's much better to burn varnished or lacquered wood, preferably with lots of brass fittings and hinges.
I went to school with a kid named Shawn Case. He had a little brother named Justin, which we all thought was fucking hilarious. To this day, while in certain company, rather than saying "just in case", we say "Shawn's brother".
