Test Time! How do I market this thing?

I know this is WF, so posting this comes at somewhat of a risk, but nonethless, can't hurt to try.

Ok, so I have xMarkPro - The Online Marketer's Dream. Launched it about 6 weeks ago, and so far fairly happy with things. Nice, constant influx of customers, but not too much, which was good. Had the time to smooth over initial bumps, receive & implement feedback, etc. Now I'm 100% confident in things, know there's a market for it, and it's time to step things up a notch.

Problem is, I'm excellent at what I do, but sales & marketing isn't it. I'm the guy who can take highly technical operations, and ensure they run like a well oiled machine. As an example, take a high-end restaurant. I'm the head chef behind the scenes, meticously taking care of every detail, and ensuring the guys in the front have the tools & resources needed to deliver perfection. Try to get me attracting customers in the door, or taking orders though? Well, not exactly my forte. Loads of others far more qualified than me for that.

I need a simple influx of say 100 customers. That will provide me with the needed funding to get this operation setup to where it needs to be, and deserves to be. Only question is, how? Hence why I came to you beautiful people looking for answers.

Buying tweets and FB likes for $10 here and there is obviously useless, forum marketing isn't any good unless you want to become an active member of 80 forums, I'm not willing to buy e-mail lists and spam them, xrumer is definitely out, not counting on SEO anytime soon, etc. I could try looking for affiliates, but I already know I could contact 500 people, 150 will take interest, 40 of those will actually look into things, 15 will agree to promote it, 4 will actually promote it, and I'll get say 10 sales out of it. Not quite worth it considering the time investment.

So test time. You have this high-end marketing software solution, and you're highly confident that if you play your cards right, it will be talked about within the online marketing industry just as much as xrumer, ScrapeBox, among others. Yet, you're still brand new, things are looking up, but you need to step it up a notch in order to get to that next level. What would you do?

Any and all advice appreciated!

Dude,

No offense, but your website is confusing as hell.

Who are you targeting here? Why do I need this?

It's all tech speak, talk to your ideal market. What's the REAL benefit of bulk domain management?

What kind of marketer is this for? What's the real benefit?

Get the message clear first. And then worry about the traffic.

I know it's already selling, but I guarantee you that your visitor value could be MUCH higher than it is now, and that makes monetizing the traffic when you do get it that much easier.

PM me if you'd like to chat about some ideas.

Agreed with Scott that it's very confusing, particularly the 3 different "tiers" of information. Theoretically, which one am I supposed to be looking at?

I think you need to de-confuse things a bit myself :) For example I get that it creates the accounts. But what kind of server do i need? How much will it affect WP sites/templates? Will it work with themes with serialized data? Etc....

Most importantly with anything you are selling..... WHY do i need it, How will it make my life better, and why is it worth 400 bucks to me? Didn't come away with that.

There's a couple more I know of that have tons of case studies and tests w/ results but I can't remember them. Hopefully someone else can post them here for you. But yeah, it seems like the first 3 people above already nailed your biggest problem.

Why don't you give a 14 day free trial or something like that? Let the software speak for itself. If it's really that good, then a WF SBT thread and costumer reviews are all you're going to need to get the ball rolling.

i'd say a video above the fold. i just read the copy. seemed okay -- problems are obvious. it's certainly not concise. i'd bullet out the pros and put all that above the fold above the video.

you built something for people with brains. that's already a plus, because they'll likely have slighly higher attention spans. but not james joyce reading attention spans. you gotta get that message ACROSS.

and "maximize your marketing?". that's your pitch? that would be like selling the george foreman grill with george saying "cook great." just dead language.

all things that can be fixed.

Ok, so the consensus is quite obvious. :) Thanks for the input. So, how about now then? xMarkPro - The Online Marketer's Dream

That any better?

Why don't you give a 14 day free trial or something like that?

Nah, no free trials. This is a fairly large system, and not a $17 WP plugin, so there's too much of a time investment required for each install in terms of customer support. I want people waiting an hour or two for a reply to their support ticket, not a week or two.

If it's really that good, then a WF SBT thread and costumer reviews are all you're going to need to get the ball rolling.

Did that, including customer reviews. Think I milked this community as much as I can for the next few months. :)

Hire a real copywriter to get your point across.

Excellent idea. No money for that at the moment though. Once this started bringing in sales, I finished up existing projects, and slowly dropped out of my contract work. More fulfilling working on your own shit, versus other peoples'.

i'd say a video above the fold.

Definitely, and I have money for that one. Already wrote a storyboard, and contracted out for that, so see what happens. Had a video before, but it sucks ass, so didn't put in on the new site. If wanted, it's here: Created by Camtasia Studio 7

All excellent ideas, and thanks! Will do.

Anyway, thanks for all the input, and appreciate it. How about the page now? Is that any better? Sorry, but I suck at this shit. I'm the guy who puts together technical specs, keeps on the team to ensure things rum smoothly, writes and implements training manuals for support staff, etc. I'm totally useless when it comes to this shit though, but nonetheless, for the time being, I'm doing it myself.

One more thought b4 you go crazy with this, change the name. Your screwed if you plan on ever being found in the SERPS. You named your product the same as one of the biggest bookmarking services on the net (Xmarks) and considering the millions of links with their name in it I would assume your pretty much screwed. Even beyond the SERPS when I 1st read your post I actually thought that you were part of the real Xmarks and so will most of your customers which will lead to nothing but confusion.
