Supreme court strikes down Chicago gun ban, expands gun rights

Excellent news, hopefully the states still in denial about the correlation between gun ownership and crime rates see the light and stop with their BS regulations. If your a law abiding citizen and properly train how to use a firearm you should without a doubt be able to carry one to protect yourself and your loved ones.

NRA is a joke, but its the only joke we have going for us right now. And I know its a pipedream refrozen, but it would be so nice to tell the super liberals that they can't ban handguns or neuter them down to 10 rounds.

It's been fun listening to the MSM talking about this one today. The guy on CNN, "assumes it's still not legal to take a rocket launcher to the local runway..."
WTF?!! Isn't hyperbole fun?

Thank you Mr. McDonald  :xmas-smiley-016:

In dissent, Justice Stephen Breyer predicated far-reaching implications. "Incorporating the right," he wrote, "may change the law in many of the 50 states. Read in the majority's favor, the historical evidence" for the decision "is at most ambiguous."

He was supported by Justices John Paul Stevens, Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia Sotomayor.

I'm so glad they chose to appoint a mexican woman to help diversify the supreme court rather than picking someone with intelligence and reason.

I find it scary that 4 justices of the United States Supreme Court basically voted against the 2nd Amendment to the United States Constitution.

I wonder if they will vote against the 1st Amendment too in the future.

lol why do you expect any different. we got a president that's the product of affirmative action.

Not exactly, we have a president that saw a great opportunity, and had an AMAZING marketing team (campaign staff). We have few options in terms of reasonable and qualified candidates. </offtopic>. What is amazing is that this will overturn out-right ban on handguns/firearms. Sure you will still have right to bear arm restrictions like NYC, but they can't outright ban our right to protect ourselves.

He wouldn't have had the political career he has if he wasn't an affirmative action Harvard grad.

I love some of the comments..

"When liberals try and take your guns away, that's when you use them."

If you can legalise guns why is your drinking age still 21??

the 21 drinking age is dumb, but what does it have to do with guns at all? states are free to set their own drinking ages, but if it's under 21, they forego a percentage of federal highway funding, which is BS blackmail from the feds. Vermont has been considering telling the feds to fuck off and lowering it anyway.

Helluva great day for Americans but it's kind of sad we're all excited about something that should be the default decision.

the 21 drinking age is dumb, but what does it have to do with guns at all?

I disagree, lets take this thread further. The 21 yr old minimum age for purchase of alcohol is stupid .... lets lower it to 16 and raise the voting age to 30. For the youth, they'd rather have it this way and the country would be way better off for that trade off.

Kids will find a way to get drunk anyways but they have no fucking business voting.

I agree with the judgement but this is a ridiculous comment. They didn't vote against the 2nd amendment, They just put the "line" in a different place.

The "right to bear arms" doesn't mean the "right to bear any arms" or the "right to bear arms especially handguns". Handguns can be banned and you still have the right to bear arms.

Its about where you draw the line.

Unless you seriously believe that all citizens have the right to own a cruiser missile if they can afford it?
