Random thought...the best way to get ideas and figure out what will be successful for your next project is to become a regular user for a while. Just explore the internet like you used to back in the days...remember "surfing." Since we are some of the more experienced web users, it's easy for us to see where websites are weak, notice broad trends in the internet, and also the different opportunities it contains. Having the means to monetize those opportunities is a big advantage, but it takes everyday experience to find them. Which means that spending all your time online is not the best way to succeed in the world of the internet because then you begin to see only your "version" of it rather than seeing it from a broader scale. Ultimately it's about finding a good balance of both real world experience and internet experience. Many of the basic principles which apply to real business are equally if not more valid on the internet...except you get your feedback and results back a lot quicker.

When you surf the net most of the time you will forget that you came to see what people click.

I'm pretty sure that I view less websites whilst spending a higher average of hours per day online now days than back in the nineties. It's a pretty good point you raise - back then I would just explore.

Now I go to my select few sites, and sit there. I might have 'net blinders' on.

This kind of jibes with being able to see the opportunities in the areas you're most interested in. Guess I need to put up a micro bikini oily dance site stat.

Just a bit more writing to do, then I'll head over to hostgator and get things sorted.

Like the sig btw, way to follow through. +rep
