free traffic is good: SEO
Paid traffic: newbie as you dont need interest.
first of all. you need learn SEO for you site to top 10.
 


I think that first of all, you need to think about what you are looking to promote.

Dating? Games? Apps? Sweepstakes? Financial offers? Muscle offers?

Because if you are looking to promote dating - POF is good.
Games? Facebook.
Sweeps? PPV.
Financial? Google, Bing.

So try figuring out what you want to do first and then think about how you are going to do it.

Agree :) Email marketing is effective way of promotion. But we should be attentive because some advertisers not allow promote offers via email.
 
Email marketing is a good method, can deliver high quality traffic. But it is not a traditional source as you need to build a list and that takes time and knowledge. Its not like paying to get traffic like Facebook, Bing, POF, Pop traffic...

You can buy a list but thats not as good IMO as its not "your" list.
 
SEO and Media buys are usually the best. A lot of popular networks like Google don't allow affiliate portal sites unless you cloak them.

Weight loss, cosmetic lines, travel, comedy, adventure and new age spirituality are so far some of the best niches right now in fb which seem to gain a lot of followers and likes. However, if you are planning on pursuing the weight loss niche with ads, you have to be careful. I recently promoted a weight loss niche in fb and got the url banned when posting/promoting.

You can also try Taboola, Outbrain, nRelate as alternatives.

However, you can go for social media as a way of reaching out to your market. What's your product btw?There are some niches which works well in social media, esp when it is highly interesting for most audiences.
 
For Free targeted traffic yahoo answer, google alert, quora, Youtube, facebook. twitter and pinterest will be best traffic sour for you.
IF you have budget you can run any PPC program. bing ppc is a great source of cheap targeted traffic. Thanks every one to sharing your experience.
