David Blaine and Criss Angel both use plants/actors.

I wzas on both of these guys pretty seriously.
I think they are TOP NOTCH performers both of them.
Absolutely A class (at least on camera).

My thought is this.
What they do is impossible so there are only a couple of actual answers:

1) The entire crowd is fake + camera stops, edits, what ever is needed read: only works on tv.

2) This guy is real and tapped into the quantum/magical world whatever.

3) This dude is a demon and fucking with us right in front of our faces.

I tend to think Hollywood is 100% fake and trickery and answer #1 is true.

That said, it entertains me very much and I love both magicians!

I mean, Chris Angel walking up a building, walking through a plate glass window and that kind of shit, that is incredible.

My only recourse is to be IN THE CROWD and witness one of these guys in the flesh.

It's mind-blowing shit.

Of course #1 is true.

Infact, I was watching 'Dynamo Magician Impossible' the other day and he does the walking through the glass trick. If you watch the video in slow motion though, you can see how he does it.

The thing is, all the crowd are all watching, completely 'amazed' at how he's managed to walk through the glass, but at the angle they are standing at, they'd easily see how its all being done... so the whole entire crowd watching the trick all had to be in on it.

Magic only works if you are there in person. Magic on TV is completely worthless and certainly not worth being amazed over in any way or form.

Ok, when he goes behind the black jackets 'screen', to the right of the jackets is a very small gap which you can see through, then there is the bouncer standing at the door.

Dynamo goes behind the jacket screen, then notice how 'conveniently' the bouncer suddenly looks to his back and right and leans back a little, closing the gap between him and the jackets.

Dynamo is simply crawling behind the jackets, behind the bouncer, and out the door. He crawls to the point outside where he 'would have' appeared if he had walked through the glass.

The element that makes this believable, is the fact that you can see people standing outside who are apparently amazed that they've just seen a guy walk through glass.... however in reality they just seen him crawl out the front door. So they are obviously in on it.

Another example is the trick he does when he throws someones mobile phone into a bottle... watch it in slo-mo... he actually throws the mobile into his own jacket, so the mobile that appears in the bottle is definately NOT the mobile he got off the guy in the crowd.

However... when the guys friend phones his mobile, the mobile in the bottle rings... NOT the real mobile that dynamo threw into his jacket. Which is further proof that the crowd are all in on it and its simply a 'For TV' trick.

Now I have a third guy (Dynamo) that I am observing .. thank you this shit is really cool.

She's not a plant but how he does the trick I don't know. Her facial expressions tell the whole truth.

DAVID BLAINE - STREET TRICKS OR MAGIC - YouTube

The girl is a plant and is wearing a special retainer. Blaine reaches into her mouth and pulls out false teeth he's holding in his hand. Before the girl opens her mouth again, the black guy behind the girl inexplicably pushes her forward. This gives her time to do her part of the trick without others around seeing what she's doing. I'm guessing she had another retainer over her mouth with black out that she got rid of so when she stood back up, it was gone and her teeth were normal again.

Used to have this as a hobby and once you learn that most tricks are done using different combinations of a handful of sleights then you are more impressed with the handling, misdirection and presentation. Street magic/showroom is the most impressive IMO.

TV magic is a lot of unimpressive edited setup bullshit.

The only thing worse than people playing their terrible acoustic covers of songs on Youtube are people butchering magic tricks.
