Some things I've learned about Facebook ads...

You mention:

4. If you are promoting an international product/service that redirects non-international traffic to another campaign, you are going to get your ad dissaproved (remember, facebook employees are in California). To remedy this, I usually direct link them to the offer (rather than use my affiliate link). Once the ad get approved you can switch to your affiliate link. Remember to keep a close eye on your ad approval because if it gets approved while linking directly to the offer site, you won't get credit for sales/leads.

How do you change the url after its been accepted? The FB faq says:

Once your ad has been created, you can only change the cost per click or CPM for your ad. If you wish to change the targeting or content of your ad you will need to pause the ad and create a new one with the correct criteria. You can also use the "Create a Similar Ad" function beneath any of your ads in the Ad Manager to recreate an ad and easily make changes to it.

Am I misunderstanding?

5. Once you find 2+ ads that works well, keep pushing impressions to one until you see a drop in CTR and then switch to another one. Keep going back and forth like this and you will see a steady CTR.

On this one, I'm not sure what you mean.

^^^^ when you have 2 ads with high CTR. run ad 'a' and pause ad 'b'. when ad 'a's ctr starts to drop off (thru banner blindness) pause it and run ad 'b'. rinse repeat. it'll keep your ctr constant for the campaign = cheap clicks, hot chix and free vegas trips :)

I've been having trouble getting FB ads approved lately, for example, Teeth Whitening. Has anyone else had this problem? Is there anything left on FB that works (without the usual tactics of cloaking, etc.)?

Teeth whitening offer is subscription billing, which is prohibited content.

I knew they offloaded acai and colon cleansing, but are all sub offers out the door now? I still see a ton of teeth ads though.

I tried all week to get a teeth whitening ad approved that pointed to a drugstore.com affiliate PRODUCT (no rebill.. physical box product) and they kept canning it.

Fucking idiots.

Unless you're clever/really lucky, it takes a lot of work to get any good offers through on facebook. Good offers being ones that can make you a lot of money (some rebill, some not).

People are just creating a ton of new Facebook accounts and getting the free $100 credit, I'm sure FB has lost 10s of thousands over it.

Good post!

You made mention of the $100 visa how do i get that from facebook?

Do you know what you are talking about? Sorry I don't see "subscription billing" listed in section 9 (Prohibited Content) of the advertising guidelines listed here -
Advertising Guidelines | Facebook

You are allowed to run subscription billing as long as you follow the rules listed in section 18 (Subscription Services). Now, Facebook can disapprove your ad based on any reason at their sole discretion but subscription billing isn't prohibited content.
