So Canada...

Bringing up they lost the WJC in this thread and saying "way to go Canada" sounds like you're just stating a fact, if you say so.

I don't think you'd be bringing it up if you knew what team Canada could have looked like with those players who are now in the NHL. That's where my assumption comes from.

hedman could have played for sweden, van Riemsdyk could have played for usa...it's not like canada is the ONLY team that has young players in the NHL...but in the end...usa won...and by the "way to go canada" i meant that they've lost to usa twice in 2010, something they rarely do...

first off. fuck yea

second. it really says something about our country if hockey is on the secondary station, msnbc, while figure skating is on the primary station, nbc. every night i see these fuckers prancing around in their flambumptuos little outfits to some bullshit music, and the public loves it. hockey is where it's at

Exactly what I thought when I turned NBC on around 8 to watch the game. I was like WTF, they have this on instead of the biggest event so far in the Olympics? Had to flip to MSNBC instead. Pathetic.

Oh (noes) Canada!

Canada stunked it up, they didn't come out to play
USA deserved that win (as much as I hate saying that), they played there game, didn't take bad penalties, scored when they needed, and Miller was hot..

Just like the Americans to blow something way out of proportion to make themselves "miracles".

Hockey is a game where any team can win, at anytime - better parity than the NFL. These days, I doubt the Detroit Lions could ever beat the Saints, but the shitty Maple Leafs could beat the San Jose Sharks on any given night..or probably about 2-3 out of 10 times...so can the US beat Canada. Team USA is the Toronto Maple Leafs of the tournament.

Having said that, I think Russia is going to win it all.

Brodeur played terrible leading up to the Olympics and it carried on here.

Did anyone else, every time the US came down the ice, cringe when they shot? Every save seemed pretty shaky and uncharacteristic.

Overall Canada played a better offensive hockey game through it all, minus the first 5 minutes or so, but the US was much stronger on power plays witch put the nail in the coffin. The US also played with a lot more heart it seemed - besides Crosby, Toews, and Heatley.

Oh well it is what is.

LOL at 40% more goals by taking 50% less shots.

This Miller! No, we will not let you goal
(Let him goal!) This Miller! We will not let you goal

(Let me goal.) Will not let you goal
(Let me goal.) Will not let you goal. (Let me goal.) Ah
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.

Bragging about hockey from either side is like watching a cripple fight. You might as well fight about curling while you're at it.

Winter Olympics makes for good evening entertainment for a couple weeks, but it's the ugly stepchild of the Summer Olympics.
