So Canada...

on your home turf it's more than just a beating :smilie_weihn_winki:

Duly noted. But you'd be hard pressed to find any real Canadian hockey fans overly devastated.

Miller stood on his head. He's been absolutely phenomenal.

Canada will rally back though.

Miller was on top of the game.
I would have to say most of the game canada played better offensively, but that obviously doesn't win a game.

The first period was a write off.

Looking forward to watching the US get stomped by RUS or FIN

Eh apparently Canada will play Russia after the next game (assuming they win)...not sure if this is confirmed though.

I'd have to agree there.......but you know what's worse....if it was a gold medal game... and both your men's and woman's team lost...oh wait a sec

Yeah I'm just loving that a Buffalo Sabre was the star of that game. We never get tastes of glory like that one.

Yeah so im hoping finland > sweden
canada better beat russia

canada will end up playing finland for gold
US bronze

Or it will be Russia gold, finland silver, us bronze

You cant really just blame brodeur
The crappy goals were deflections and after turnovers...

I guess it was mainly his fault when he batted it, but the CAD player gave it up to rafalski

But yes, Luongo is the future so he should have been playing

Damn Miller stole that game, hope they meet again in the quarter or semis.

You obviously know nothing about hockey. All I'm gonna say is:

Stamkos
Myers
Tavares
Duchene

There's a few more but anyway these guys all could have been on that junior team making the US look silly but they're too busy tearing it up in the NHL. It's actually pretty amazing that the final game was as close as it was.

Oh...i know nothing about hockey because i stated a fact that USA won WJC too?...interesting theory...

The U.S squeezes out 1 Olympic hockey victory over Canada in 50 years time and it's; "thought you were supposed to be good..." ?

Real classy.

USA did it to Spain (soccer/futbol) in the last year, after Spain hadn't lost in something like 3 years... and that comment just solidifies the fact that it doesn't matter if you are Spanish or Canadian, Soccer or Hockey, you are a pussy hurt bitch.

No, I'm just realistic.

Had Canada won the game you wouldn't hear a peep from either side.
But because the United States won a non-qualifying, insignificant match-up (minus the pride) against a hockey powerhouse it's cause for celebration and ridicule. And my original comment was kind-hearted, because outside of the Olympics I doubt many Americans in this thread give a flying fuck about hockey.

Nevertheless. Bring home the gold, then celebrate.

Boston Bruins fan here... Shit, next door neighbor has a hockey rink in his backyard.

Anyhow, it wasn't so insignificant... sure, now your all star team has to run through Russia, which should have been the Gold medal game... you won't even make it to the Finals.

Bringing up they lost the WJC in this thread and saying "way to go Canada" sounds like you're just stating a fact, if you say so.

I don't think you'd be bringing it up if you knew what team Canada could have looked like with those players who are now in the NHL. That's where my assumption comes from.

lol Boston Bruins? Come on man. That team bleeds red, white and maple leaves.

Anyway, we'll see. It'll be a different Team Canada with Luongo between the pipes.

don't worry, we'll do it on your turf this year. No Gold at home for Canada in hockey, undefeated USA is on a roll.
